@@AlexMig *No, no customer gets the metal last. The metal last is what the boots sit on, that go inside the boot itself. There's also the last in the beginning, that helps give the boot its shape. To explain further from what Larcona said, in the beginning, the material is pulled over the shape last and nailed, to help form the initial shape of the shoe. Later in the video when you see the heel, when the nail is hammered through, the nail goes through the material, and if it hits the metal last, the last will make the nail curl into itself. Then there's more material put inside the shoe to cover the nails that are curled. I learned this from watching a cobbler's channel who explained it. I was also worried like you, so I understand 😅 It's interesting how the process goes 😊*

Talk about foot anchors. Each boot weighs about 3 1/2 - 4 lbs. Holy moly, they may be durable, but it comes at a high cost in weight.
