VAT is applied if your sales exceed £90,000 a year. Sales under that amount are not subject to VAT. I recommend not registering for VAT until it is compulsory and legally required. For a beginner seller, £90,000 in sales is quite an achievement. At that point, they are considered experienced sellers and should be knowledgeable about VAT regulations. My primary focus is on helping beginners. If you search "Zain Shah Tax," "Zain Shah HMRC," or "Zain Shah VAT" on KZbin, you'll find many videos I've made on these topics. I try to cover all relevant information, even if it doesn't apply to new sellers, which can make the videos lengthy. I hope this clarifies things.

No mention of import tax and VAT. You can't just order tons of shat from China and expect to pay no fees. Electrical goods like that vacuum are bad news, how many out of 100 will be faulty? Same with the battery jump starter or whatever it was, just a fire hazard. You say an item sold x 122 ,yeah that might have been over a year. I used to sell 1000s on ebay and yes ebay asked me to change my account, I told them to go swivel. What would you do if temu and wish folded tomorrow?

Great video, just one question, if you are a business ebay seller and your ltd company is VAT registered, although not earning above the threshold, paying flat rate, do the expenses from importing from temu, wipe out all your profits, eg import tax, VAT, shipping, and all the ebay fees.

That does impact a profit margin heavily but not to the point where I will get discouraged by it. Those are obviously the legal responsibilities we do have to comply with those and no businesses exempt from those things. To run a business that’s what it takes

Now, if you were running a niche website, it would be different. Having all related items in one place creates a better impression for customers browsing your site. But on eBay, customers search specifically for the item they want. That’s what shows up in the search results-not your entire store inventory. Focus on finding profitable products instead of worrying about sticking to a specific category.

Trying to understand what is the quickest delivery process so the customer is not waiting to long? When I sell a Temu product on eBay i have to wait 5 days for the order to arrive at my home address in the Uk. On the ebay postage policy for listing should it say 10 day postage then? Or is there quicker method please?

Once you order a product, it will be shipped to you. After receiving it, you can list the product for sale. When you get an order, you can ship it via Royal Mail or similar services. This model allows customers to receive their items within one working day. The idea behind this business model is to buy products, sell them yourself, and once you see success, you can contact the supplier to negotiate a lower price. The benefit of buying items cheaply from platforms like Temu is that it lets you enter a scalable business model with lower risk compared to dropshipping. Dropshipping often comes with local suppliers who offer prices that aren’t workable once you add your margin. The prices end up too high for customers, which makes it difficult to compete. The goal is to source products in bulk from China. The challenge, however, is having the budget for it. New sellers may not have the capital to invest a lot of money upfront. That’s why buying smaller quantities at reasonable prices from platforms I’ve mentioned allows you to test products with minimal risk-starting with just £20-£50. If those products sell well, you know you’re on the right track.
