I agree with everything you say. But when a customer uses Faulty or Not as Described wrongly, this means the metrics can built up and a charge an additional penalty commission percentage is charged by eBay for on-going orders as these metrics have gone above a pre-set limit. This is therefore unfair in not only is it not Faulty or badly described but the penalty commission covers a number of future orders until the metrics drop back below the preset limit.

Unfortunately, this is one of the challenges every business faces. Even a small shop in a quiet village, like in the Lake District, deals with shoplifters. It’s not rare; it happens everywhere. Sure, you could build your own website and sell directly, but let’s be real-the conversion rate is low, even if you spend a lot of money on ads. Platforms like eBay and Amazon are extremely customer-focused. They know that as long as buyers trust their platforms, sellers will keep selling. At the end of the day, these platforms are businesses too. To keep attracting customers, they often side with buyers. It’s frustrating, but the truth is, getting traffic to your own website is expensive and time-consuming. That’s why we stick with these platforms, even when losses like this happen. It’s not right, but it’s part of doing business.

There is no way to hide the address. The best thing to do in this case is to buy a virtual address for registration purposes, which will be public on your eBay account. Virtual addresses can cost a little over £50 a year, and when it comes to return addresses, which aren’t going to be public, you can add your residential address.

It’s not entirely free. It gives a few key words to just to give you a rough idea that same keyword research tool is also built inside the Zik Analytics so if you are moving on a paid plan, it’s better to get a subscription for Zik Analytics as compared to getting a subscription for the keyword research to.

It often comes down to luck. Some people manage to sell certain items without issues, but when you start selling, eBay might flag your listing and issue a violation strike, asking you to remove it. The other sellers may also be violating eBay’s terms, but they get away with it until someone reports them. Ironically, these are often the same people who might report your listing, causing it to be taken down. Listing these types of items can be hit or miss, with luck playing a big role.

If you have posted the item you should have a tracking number you should upload that tracking number into eBay but if you don’t have a tracking number that isn’t much you can do about it

You need to evaluate whether your item is worth selling. When it comes to sponsoring a listing on Amazon, learning how to run PPC campaigns is essential. Are your PPC campaigns optimized? Are you targeting the right keywords? There’s a lot involved. I recommend watching some free videos on KZbin to help you understand and optimize PPC. There are plenty of resources available to guide you.

You have a defect because you didn’t follow the eBay policy properly. You didn’t handle the return properly, that cannot be reversed. The only thing that you can do from now on is to keep on following the policy properly in the next assessment. Your account will be back to normal.
