I like how you commandeered the younger boys to get the grease on them and work as a team. Great Video, one of the best "Homemade type videos" You dont read the instructions and show a few shaky camera shots of a procedure out of order and only half of what it really is you had to do. Again, thanks for a REAL Mans VIDEO!

Looks good I did mine years ago it came with a bracket for the parking brake cable and also instead of jacking the body up I unbolted everything like you said chocked the wheels set up Jack stands took all the bolts out deflated the tires a little at a time put the blocks in and just inflate the tires about 10 pounds at a time.
@mountainmikeoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
The BEST way to do the parking brake cable is to have one made at a machine shop. It's not expensive at all. Then, install it along the frame as one normally would. This ensures that the cable doesn't get caught up and damaged by any foliage or moving components of the chassis/suspension. Trust me, you want a parking brake if you lose a U-joint on your rear driveshaft on an incline. Otherwise, neat truck.
@heavymetalhero083 жыл бұрын
The parking brake reroutes over the top of the frame. There is a bracket that bolts to the body mount perch to extend up for the cable to be routed through. (You have to drill holes in the perch to mount the bracket)..., its all in the directions if you read them.

I wanna do this kit on my work truck, and then do the lift keys I got so I can level the thing out and possible add an additional set of shocks up front. Just till I scrape some money together to get everything needed to do a solid axle. That will be a little later down the road though. Honestly gonna get the body lift on and then order the 6” rc lift. Gotta order a front end rebuild and might as well reseal the gear box as well. Sucks that I can’t even work on the projects I want to because I gotta work on my other truck that my game and my girl daily after I get off work lol. Hoping it’s a wheel seal and that I don’t have to clean up and patch an axle housing lol. Have upper and lowers to rebuild the front end. Gonna attempt to finish boxing the frame rails, so I can sell that to find the things I wanna work on

if you haven’t, i don’t recommend unless you’re willing to put $$$$ every other month for tires, you’re going to feel EVERY bump in the road, and it’s not going to look good unless you got 35s or bigger tires. i have a 6inch RC lift on my 1996 chevy k1500 and i’m going to swap it out for a 3inch RC lift
@Tommy-rr7ez4 күн бұрын
@giannigarza9532 I hope your still get this comment cause it sounds like your pretty smart to this stuff. I recently got a GMC K3500 EXT CAB LONG BED SINGLE WHEEL. It's all stock suspension right now. Om wanting to put 35s on it and I've been wondering if I could go with a 3 or 4 body lift and no lift on it and I would be ok without doing a suspension lift? I've been round 4x4s all my life but everything I've had already had lifts on it and om just trying not to lift if I can get by but if you think I still should put a suspension lift on it or maybe a suspension lift and no body lift that's what I will do? I won't be doing no hard-core offroad but I willbe doing some offroad. Om going to put a low profile camper or I have a raised roof topper that I'm going to make a camper out of maybe for some overlanding and I know your tire size gives you the height ground clearance but I'm trying to keep as low as I can not to be top heavy. I realt hope you get this or somebody and ront mind helping me! Thanks for any help!

@ honestly I end up going with both. It’s a preference. It depends on how high you want it. And with the body lift if you do some customization, you won’t be able to tell at all you have a body lift. The biggest thing on the body list if you decide to go with a custom front bumper and back bumper, you have to get somebody to fabricate you a new bracket.
