Thank you for your wonderful registration of this trip. 20 years ago I made this trip twice and noticed that a lot has changed in both countries. The traffic density has increased enormously, which is quite inexplicable in contrast to the lagging prosperity compared to Europe. I admire your perseverance in finding your way in regions where navigation aids are completely unknown. A funny example was finding your ferry connection in Albina Suriname.

Yes this trip was a great adventure. The best part was going through customs and immigration on both sides of the border. I was amazed of the lack of traffic and haw good the roads are in both countries. Glad you are enjoying the Chanel, I'm glad that it brings back good memories for you. Steve from Australia

Seems like 90% of the population in Guyana lives along this road. The whole road to the border is just in villages and small towns. Was very interesting to see also the border cossing procedures, it takes quite a lot of time to cross into Suriname. In Suriname there is much more nature along the road, enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing, the first video I see from Suriname, nice to explore places so far away with your videos, greetings from a road-tripper from Germany!

Did you do the driving in Guyana or someone else? And if so, how was driving in Guyana, challenging or ok?
@wallyoff2 жыл бұрын
Driving in Guyana was easy, not much traffic. Morning traffic in Georgetown was bad for only 1 hour. The road from the Brazil Border to Lehem was all dirt road, a 4x4 will be required especially in the wet season.. Steve

They keep left, don't they? So why some road signs are on the right side?
@Nightwatcher240110 ай бұрын
Actually I thought that the road signs in Suriname would be in Dutch only, but now I see the English notes, like "rumble strip"

Suriname also has oil and gas, Guyana started oil and gas at sea earlier than Suriname. Guyana is no better developed than Suriname. Suriname is much further along, things are not going well only due to mismanagement by the government. But the current government is working very hard to restore things and help the country out. When the oil and gas dollars come in, it will also be stopped in the Suriname economy, infrastructure, etc. and then Suriname will also make great strides forward. Guyana is really no better developed than Suriname. In Guyana you can still see people driving through the streets with donkey carts. In Suriname you haven't had that for more than 50 years. Based on that, see which country is further.
