I just hooked up my Bluetooth through an amp separately. I can listen to the radio on its original circuit. When I want to blast my tunes, I go through the Bluetooth and amp. Make sure you modify the speakers first!

Just watched your video and I use a Bluetooth cassette tape adapter that works great for me but eventually want to get a media receiver or something to replace the radio but have used that adapter with tape player for over year now with pandora. Oh and it's a wireless adapter that I use. It just charges and lasts a while. The other one that uses the cord got in way when i was turning a little bit while I had the phone on the mount and connected. I hope this helps you and thanks for your video!

Great video Dan. I have the same age ‘wing as you, and have just bluetoothed my stereo. Tried alsorts of ways over the years, but my tape player packed in, so there’s not much chance of anything working. I have a video on KZbin of the way I went with a Bluetooth amplifier board. It works well, and is cheap. However, you do lose the radio function. It didn’t bother me as tbh I never really use the Goldwing stereo because we have helmet intercoms. I just wanted to be able to stream music to my stereo if I wanted to.

Can you install the Radio app on your blue tooth device and play the local radio that way with your apparatus?
@johnruthsr26912 жыл бұрын

I tried that... I even have a Bluetooth cassette... I really think it's the radio having problems

Forget screwing with the Tupperware, just put it under the fuel door and connect the antenna under the seat.
@michaelhafey18612 жыл бұрын
You're better off using either a Bluetooth cassette adapter or a cassette adapter with a jack on it to plug into your phone or external mp3 player, I had a 10 disk cd changer on my '88 goldwing that hooked up through the antenna wire as well and it didn't work that great either

I tried all sorts of gadgets too, but nothing really worked well. So I changed all my speakers with some cheap eBay ones and I unhooked the factory radio ( because I don’t listen to nothing on the radio) ran my own speaker wires and I put a 400 watt 4 channel amp in the saddlebag with a cord going to my phone. I got tired of dealing with Bluetooth.

I have a 90 Honda Gold Wing and stereo was not working at all. I bought a JBL "EXTREME 3" Bluetooth Speakers and made a cradle mount for the trunk rack and being held with bungees. The Extreme 3 is an directional speaker so during the first trip the speaker rotated and it was hard to hear, I discovered the speaker was facing backwards. After changing bungees, the JBL Extreme 3 has plenty of volume. Simple and no wires or wiring. When you stop, the speaker can easily be removed and put into the trunk. If I had a pic I would have added it to this post. If interested ask and I will post a pic. The radio on the motorcycle was not operational at all so tying into the existing radio was not an option for me. Hope this may be helpful for someone. Thanks

Were you driving with your choke on?
@danshangoutgarage75532 жыл бұрын
Had to to keep it running until I rebuild the carbs 😆
@pbennett032 жыл бұрын
Oh okay yeah. I have an 88 also that looks identical to yours. I too had issues when I first got mine over a year ago and sometimes would have to leave the choke on a little…until I finally pulled the carbs and found a vacuum diagram and discovered of all the 17 vacuum lines on there that most of them were hooked up wrong. Since then it’s been running like a top. Just put new tires on it and now I’m getting some strange clicking sound coming from the rear wheel but only when I’m leaning to the right like going around a curve. I took the back wheel back off again and checked everything but can’t figure it out. Oh well, I guess I will just have to deal with the clicking
@danshangoutgarage75532 жыл бұрын
@@pbennett03 I would try checking the rear differential on the clicking sound I just changed the fluid on one of my videos and it helped out a lot with mine but I also had to have it adjusted because of wear
@pbennett032 жыл бұрын
Yeah that was my first thought but I just recently changed the diff fluid and I also lubed those splines really good with some Molly 77 paste. It seems to stop doing it when I press my rear brake so I’m kinda leaning more towards something to do with the brake caliper or something. Possibly could have warped that rotor somehow too when the tire was being put on or those big balance weights that they put on the left side of the rim maybe hitting when they go round. I don’t know, I’m just guessing at this point since it didn’t do that before putting the new tire on

How come I can't find the Big Red install?
@larryleisuresuit95842 жыл бұрын
wow, this is kinda crazy, I have been looking for a way to get blue tooth on my 1500A ( it;s a 1999 ) and I have seen some products but this is the first I have seen of this kind for a GL. but ! this reminds me of a device that I saw for a car. The one for the car is powered by putting the device ( a stick ) into the cigg lighter. and that is IT! the reason that is all it is to install is because ( Like you just told about this product here ) It creates a radio signal to a certain station and then you just tune the radio to the station it puts out and Boom. you have your own little broadcast system right in your car. Soooo that is making me wonder what that thing you bought is doing connected to the radio antenna directly. LOL and also, why Cant I just plug that same stick into the cigg lighter jack that is already in my left glove box and tune the radio to that station? LOL when you plugged that in to the back of the radio you unplugged your antenna on the bike right? does that mean you have no radio now? Maybe yours is not sending signal the way the car one does. maybe its totally taking over the whole radio and your external antenna is now just for show eh? im only half way through the vid. probably should have waited to write. OK watched the rest LOL. Bummer. since my idea is so non invasive and I have one of those sticks around here somewhere, ima try it and see if it does the same thing as the POS you just tried. LOL. and also I will go see the other video you were talking about. Sorry you had to take your bike apart TWICE for this one. you did save me the trouble of that though for sure which is pretty SWEET FOR ME DUDE! Thanks! also I dunno of you know this or not but there was a harbor Freight commercial on this one. Just to let ya know. :0) Oh yeah, do you have the rear speaker wires for your bike? mine didn't come with that , I found a fader kit that plugs into the wire harness so I can do the install. On eBay.. it was from SABER CYCLES, There were others but I got mine for 19 bones shipped. I didn't order the one with the lame speakers for 50+ dollars. I have some KICKERS I am going to put back there, marine grade. Might even install a small amp ( hooked to that Blue wire you just showed me LOL ) I have some old school KICKER Basstation subwoofer amps that pull under ten amps but push 50watts RMS - If I can drop them down low enough to get air flow they should stay cool as cucumbers. Ca CHing! search is on.
