I am a Union Sheet Metal Worker of over 40 years. Your Mystery Find is a tool of my trade. It is an old soldering iron. The head is heated by an external heat source. The heads were typically large like that so that they would retain heat longer. Very nice find!

Greg, you have such a great way of weaving nostalgia into your presentations. I think we all feel a bit of “I wish I could go back for a day” when we tune in. Awesome job, again. PS) I think this is the first episode where you didn’t find at least an old Wheat penny! Granted, I’m only a year into watching your videos, but that’s a shocker! 😎 - Wayne

Thanks Wayne and that's always been one of my goals with this channel. I've hoped to inspire people to take an interest in studying the history of our great country for themselves. I want to show people the innumerable good things that this country has done for and brought to the rest of the world. I hope people do become nostalgic when they see images of a simpler and more wholesome life that was once enjoyed by many of us. I hope it might cause people to reevaluate how life in this country is now and inspire them for a return to a life of deeper meaning, values and a recognition of right and wrong once more. Was life perfect, were people perfect back then? No, but it was certainly much more ideal than it is now and I hope my videos might spark people to incorporate a bit of the "good old days" of America into their communities. I'll get off my soapbox now. lol ATB Greg

@FindingAmerica

I don't film those but there were lots of memorials and clad but not one old coin yet. Old relics and high tones everywhere but no old coins. They have to be out there somewhere but I am completely happy finding the cool relics. :) ATB Greg
