#89 Patmos island hike from Chora to Skala (port)

Patmos is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea. It is perhaps best known today as the location the disciple / apostle John received the visions found in the Book of Revelation of the New Testament, and where the book was written.
One of the northernmost islands of the Dodecanese complex, it has a population of 2,998 and an area of 34.05 km2 (13.15 sq mi). The highest point is Profitis Ilias, 269 metres (883 ft) above sea level. The municipality of Patmos, which includes the offshore islands of Arkoi, Maratho, and several uninhabited islets, has a total population of 3,047 and a combined land area of 45.039 square kilometres (17.390 sq mi).
Patmos' main communities are Chora (the capital city), and Skala, the only commercial port. Other settlements are Grikou and Kampos. This is a hike from Chora to Skala.

When I was a kid in 1968, I used to walk down from Chora to Skala, I didn't use the road, I would follow the goat paths down. Now there are so many houses you couldn't do that now.

Perfect! Just what I was looking for...directions from Chora to Skala (port)...from the main entrance of the cave of the Apocalypses to town you took a path instead of the main road...question...how long it would take by walking the main road??...Thanks,

Early morning hike to avoid too much heat. But yes, the island was super nice not so many people this year.
