As I have said to all the other narrowboat vloggers that we watch thanks for helping us stay sane over the last twelve months. We were unable to travel to the UK in 2019 due to family issues but today we on our way. Hopefully we will see you on the cut. Harley and Shelley

At 14:41 that children's pirate ship play set looks like fun! I'd have been the kid who yelled at all the passing narrowboats, "Heave to and prepare to be boarded! Surrender your chocolate and everybody can go on!" ;D

Hi Pat & Eileen, hope your keeping well and Corono virus free. Your vlog bought back memories of my journey through there last year. Weather was a bit warmer and I stayed exactly where you moored for 3 or 4 days,deck chair on stern deck. Lovely walks in country park as well with Zac❤💙🐕🐕🐾🐾🐕🐕
@ournarrowboatquest48944 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, looks like we are likely to do the same route as you did last year, except for the diversion to Crick of course. We did stay at the country park for a few days but it’s still very cold but great walks for Zac! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍

Hello Donna, glad you enjoyed the vlog, don’t think there is anything like the British canals in the US, thanks for watching and commenting!👍
@scottfw71694 жыл бұрын
@@ournarrowboatquest4894 y'all are correct, we have had and do have canals here in US but they were/are indeed not the scope and scale of what y'all have in UK. If you would allow, I'll suggest a recent book which has some coverage of them, published 2019, Indiana University Press; title, Transportation and the American People, by H. Roger Grant. I had a copy arrive today in mail, ordered it before, just barely before, Amazon got slammed by emergency buying of necessities. Book's chapter 2 is "Waterways and the American People", runs from page 23 to 62, & chapter 3, "Slow and Steady: Canals and the American People" goes from p.63 to page 94. I've just kind of skimmed through it. Are 64 footnoted references for canal chapter. Book is less about technical aspects of transportation systems and mostly about their impact on society. And the UK canals are big enough a thing that someone has made narrowboats, locks, and the canals themselves, for active operational use in the computer program Trainz Railroad Simulator!

Hi Eileen and Pat. Thanks for taking me into the canal world again. Mojo watches you now checking for any wildlife. I hope you had a hearty breakfast and a lovely day. Please excuse my ignorance but what power unit are you using and how do you get your mail, parcels and spares etc, do you have an address? How does it all work? You’ve got me thinking now, I’d like to go down a gear or two and relax. Thank you again. Best regards, Mojo and Chris.
