89-Year-Old Lady On The Floor For 30 Mins After A Bad Fall | Inside The Ambulance | Real Responders

Paramedics attend to an elderly lady left lying on the ground for 30 minutes after she suffered an unfortunate fall. Elsewhere, an elderly man has severe pain in his knee. The paramedics believe the patient is suffering from septic arthritis in his knee and want to get him to hospital.
For the very first time, an ambulance has been rigged with cameras that provide a unique perspective on what it's like to respond to emergency calls. 'Inside The Ambulance' follows paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service in England as they take us right into the heart of the action. We see heroism at work in the actions of these first responders. We also enter the lives of people in crisis and learn their unique stories.

My mom is 87. She's starting to show early signs of dementia and it breaks my heart. She fell back in 2020 and fractured her L3 in 2 places. Surgery didn't work because of her weakened bones.

I love watching this show too! I think it would be great for the elderly to be adopted by loving younger folks. Someone that would commit to visiting them and spending time with those of us that are older and lonely. It would be a huge show of love and respect if it became a thing to do. We need more caring interactions and even pet visits. If someone could visit an elder daily for even a 1/2 hour to make sure they are OK and have their meals and medications and just some company to look forward to. But people tend to take advantage of elders to steal from them. Elders can be helpless targets for cruel people. Blessings~

I wish elders wouldn't have to deal with stairs. I no longer try the stairs d/t the dangers of falling. My mom fell and broke her back on those stairs. She got to where she would come up them by herself instead of using our communication set up to let us know she needs help up. Putting her in an assisted living environment was the worst thing we tried to do for her when I got to where I could no longer safely care for her. She broke one hip, then ended up in a nursing home and broke the other hip trying to go to the toilet when they didn't take her when she called for help. I'm an older retired/disabled RN and I was trying to cope and couldn't. Mother wouldn't eat and she ended up starving herself to death. It is upsetting still...

Septic arthritis is extremely painful. I developed it after having surgery for a meniscus tear. I also had a staph infection. It’s took 6 weeks of intervenous antibiotics along with 2 weeks of oral. I feel for him. You cannot imagine the pain.

Did they mute the dominoes? West Indians Never play Dominoes quietly. Even if someone may be dying in a corner! And Before anyone attacks me for racism. This is where I lived for 47 years of my life. My people, be they Black, white or yellow. We don't do Racism, or didn't. We are all in the s*t together! I love the way the paramedics flow in and out of dialect, depending om who they are dealing with. We all do that.I t never completely goes away, but we can tone it down or ramp it up .If we go full on, you won't have a clue!

I am so bothered by people with mobility problems are in these homes where the rooms are so small & the stairs so narrow & steep. I know these are supposed to be Council Housing but don't they have any that are one floor? No wonder people fall so much. I get claustrophobia just watching this. Those stairs really scare me because I have mobilty problems & it wouldn't be the first time I have fallen down a flight of stairs.

It would be great if they also gave some quick BLS training while there just in case the infant/patient suddenly crashes/collapses. It only takes a few mins so they should spread the word! Im in healthcare, so I need to have a current Basic Life Certificate for work. Most of the general population in any country dont know the basics of CPR etc... The EMS is super caring and wonderful. This is just a recommendation that could be done when they let the patient know they can ring back anytime if things change. Which is amazing but if a collapse happens and ambulances are all busy it could mean life and death. 👍💯🤗
