A car salesman fears he's about to suffer another heart attack and calls the ambulance services. Paramedics arrive at the seen and take his vitals before deciding he needs further medical care. Elsewhere a 92-year-old woman is taken to hospital to have her urinary infection treated.
For the very first time, an ambulance has been rigged with cameras that provide a unique perspective on what it's like to respond to emergency calls. 'Inside The Ambulance' follows paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service in England as they take us right into the heart of the action. We see heroism at work in the actions of these first responders. We also enter the lives of people in crisis and learn their unique stories.

Richard's so cool, calm, and collected, despite all he's been through. Really admirable.

It is so wonderful to see these professionals at work. The county ambulance service is based very close to where I reside. First responders can monitor and start IVs while on the way to hospital and are life savers.

I alone take care of my brain damaged triplegic mother (in America with ZERO assistance from the government). Whatever that inflatable chair was they used to get Joyce up is something I need DESPERATELY!!! Anyone in the UK have one they’d be willing to donate? 🙏🏻

Look into a hoyer lift.
@PneumaNoose
@PneumaNoose 6 ай бұрын
@@crohniequeenab I have one and I’m still paying it off. Medicare covered 90% of a manual hoyer lift. However, they did not provide the netting for showers which costs hundreds of dollars. It sits collecting dust because it’s literally easier for me to just lift her than to set up and manually crank her into a wheelchair or shower chair every time (a rolling shower chair I had to pay $3k for because it’s the only one that could do everything I need to safely clean a person who is 80% paralyzed). Plus without the mesh netting with open bottom, I can’t get her properly clean in the shower because she has no control of her bowels so she sits in a pool of poo and makes everything worse. The hoyer is for emergencies only at this point should she fall to the ground where I would not be able to physically lift her from (which I’ve never allowed to happen but somehow they’ve dropped her 4 times to the floor whilst in hospital care).

@w.whoisrio Yes, I am in the U.S.ofA. and it was a huge situation to find jobs that had decent healthcare. However my question about his mother I was wondering if she was old enough for medicare. Regular medicare with a supplement has been good for me and it gives great care. Medicaid can be good for medical devices needed for disabled people as well.

Not to be mean but some of these ambulance workers need to lose weight and take better care of their own health.
@smalltownmouse

I imagine it's difficult to eat 100% healthy all the time when you spend 12 hours of your day driving around and taking care of other people. Clearly they're healthy enough to do a job that can probably be taxing on your body, seeing as they have to physically pick people up sometimes, and do their job as quickly as they can to ensure the patient is safe and healthy. You don't know the state of their health at all, basing it purely off of looking overweight means nothing if they're healthy otherwise. They're still doing their job. Have some respect.

Let’s see what you look like miss Olivia and I’d like to know do you take care of people 12 hrs a day sometimes with no break? You don’t know why a person may be overweight maybe you shouldn’t judge if you don’t know their situation.

You have no idea how healthy they are by looking at them. A fat person could have low cholesterol, great blood pressure, and lots of stamina while the "healthy" looking person smokes 24/7 and has an invisible illness. Stop assuming things about people based on their appearance, it's 2024. Do better.
