890hp Carbon/Metal Chevy Camaro, AND a 700hp Carbon Fiber Mach 1 Mustang: Ring Brothers Cover Shoot

The Ring Brothers build cars on a whole different level. These no expense spared, carbon fiber laden pieces of automotive art are at the top of the automotive building game, and Mr. Larry Chen himself was chosen to shoot them for the cover of Hot Rod magazine. One is an 890hp Chevy Camaro named "Valkyrja", and the other is the 700hp "UNKL" Ford Mustang. Both vehicles took home awards from SEMA 2019, including the coveted "Battle of the Builders" award.

3:54 That body line/horizontal pinch/crease above the air scoop is all jacked up and it shows when light reflects off of that area and brings the overall perceived quality of the build down a notch. Now, the only reason I even noticed that is because this build is so thorough and they paid a lot of attention to the details so an oversight like that stands out way, way more (compared to a build that didn’t pay so much attention to every little detail and you didn’t expect the body work to be flawless). I feel like for such an extensive and detailed build, there’s no excuse for flaws in what is the basics/ if they would’ve focused less on all the minute details and made sure

Larry, your photography really is stunning, and your composition really highlights the beauty of these machines while making no attempt at drawing the viewer's attention to the skill and craftsmanship of the photographer. I especially appreciate your dedication to natural light photography - the obvious parallel in the automotive world being Naturally Aspirated vs. Forced Induction engines. (Both are lovely, and both have their talents and uses, but something about the simplicity of each respective dicipline - NA Engines and Natural Lighting - really forces the artist to focus on their craft in a wholistic manner.)
