HertzDevil probably because the music is just that damn haunting.

also, play the game! it's real fun, bittersweet at times

How the...holy shit, just how did you pull this off? This is amazing, every bit as haunting as the original. The VRC6 chip was truly capable of amazing things, shame more FMC games didn't use it because wow! This is just beautiful to say the least. One of my favorite tracks from Chrono Trigger due to its haunting and foreboding nature. Not too many covers capture the atmosphere of the song, and you somehow did it with this hardware.

I think part of why the arp sounds weird is that I'm used to hearing that part with each note sustained separately. If I had more time, I would have experimented with taking the pulse2 or triangle out of the bassline and using it with the pulse1 to get two of the three notes sustained instead of arping. And now that I think about it, I'm with jrlepage, the DPCM is a bit loud compared to the other channels. But yeah, this sounds cool. Great work! (Way to show me up and get a cover out~)
@8BitDanooct110 жыл бұрын
i had originally tried it with squares 1/2 doing the chord but an arp with just two of the notes sticks out like a sore thumb at that octave so i did it this way
@thepsynergist10 жыл бұрын
That arp sounds exactly like my old phone ringing. I had to do a double take to see if someone was calling me. On topic, really nice work. Impressive.

Lovely. I never really do much with the saw channel. Usually just be lazy and double up the triangle channel with it for a sort of crunchy bass, but. It's a pretty lead. I'm going to give that a shot, man. Cool stuff~!

I kinda feel like the DPCM sticks out from the rest a bit too much, and I'm not sure how I feel about that superslow arp. Other than that, great job man!
@8BitDanooct110 жыл бұрын
yea the NES really brought out the DPCM, it is a little better mixed in the FTM. also the arp was EVEN SLOWER before i talked to icesoldier so good thing it is slightly faster than it was
