Hey Matt, a belted tire will help performance considerably. That being said, be careful to properly warm up the stock tires so they're reaching optimal temps (use a temp gun to ensure they are somewhere in the range of 150-degrees). That's why that last pull was so much better - the tires were warm and had probably broken in - giving more traction 👍

I never honestly liked the drag slash, thought it wasn't a good idea, however if i ever got one for free I'm sure I would enjoy it, some people are comparing it to custom builds or other rc brands, but buying this you're buying a traxxas model, so you're getting good customer support, good parts and all of that. Like many people are saying, its for a beginner.
@BlueDually4x43 жыл бұрын
I think we need to get to the most important fact; and that is the slow guy in Canada kept his drag truck rubber side down and the guy that lives in the most fast car crazy place rolled it his second run. Matt even did his burnouts on carpet. Though I still think that is a lot of cash for what is basically a parts bin build with minimal effort to set up a faux trans brake. Even all the 2wd trucks that compete against the slash come with metal motor plates. I will give them that the C10 body does look really nice.

I don't get this mentality that the drag truck is nothing but a Slash conversion?! I mean, what did people expect? The formula has worked for years so, why would Traxxas mess with that? Remember, this is a company that is using parts that have been in their inventory for well over 20-25 years - they're not exactly innovators, lol! Still, great looking scale body and wheels, some neat electronic upgrades and a new sealed transmission (long overdue)! I'm curious to see what impact the price has on sales though - very aggressive (outrageous?) pricing strategy!

One huge problem with places allowing tsm on deceleration is I've seen guys in testing they haven't done it during races but in testing they have those $800.00 dollar controllers, they'll actually trick the traxxas esc into thinking its deceleration by 1 or 2% while full throttle going forward. So they're 100% on forward while having that 1 to 2% deceleration tricking the esc to activate tsm while going down the track. You won't catch it unless you question it and the tech checks it. But i think it all needs to be removed.
