Probably my favorite build. The Gladiator is just awesome and you’re making so much better. Love this series. I’m so tempted to buy a TRX-4 kit and lengthen the wheelbase to fit the Gladiator body on it. You and others may find the lockers useless, but I love using them - feels like driving my 1:1. I just have nowhere near your skills in order to pull off such a build. Keep the excellence coming! 👍✌️

I picked my SCX 10.3 Gladiator at my local hobby store. It was custom done by the hobby store owner. It was painted red, white, and blue over the body. It had a light bar, a snorkel, winch, and ramps for crawling. I didn’t think it was for sale as it was on display but I’m glad I asked. I now own this custom truck.

I have the MTRC kit for my gladiator body as well. Mounted the controller on the underside of the interior panel and then mounted the rock lights onto the body itself so that I only had a single connection down to the chassis for power. Also have a bunch of Knight Customs arriving today from Shapeways: snorkel like yours, roof rack, door latches, grille. What would you use aside from shoe goo to mount the parts to the painted lexan?
@scalebuildersguild4 жыл бұрын
Interesting that you chose to mount the rock lights to the body. I'd be interested in seeing how you did that. Seeing that I'll also have a number of lights in the front bumper, I opted to keep it on the chassis and make sure my cables for the body are long enough. Shoe Goo is likely what I'll use to mount my Knight parts, except where they can be safely screwed into the plastic mounts on the rear cage.
@drewr68314 жыл бұрын
@@scalebuildersguild I guess I should add that I just built up this body and installed it on my TRX-4, which required a massive wheelbase extension and other mods, but it fits perfect! I actually just cut out the fender holes where the lights screw into so that more of the widening beam would make it through, and attached the lights by servo tape to to the body. The light doesn’t spread on the ground as far but it’s more than enough for seeing what’s under the truck. There is about an 8mm gap between the lights and fender holes.
