I'm gettin a 8kw inverter, 14 x 550w panels & 2 x 5kw batteries. House of 7 people including running a business with 3 employees (office work). Connecting everything except stove and oven. Geyser is solar, but i will supplement with this. What do you think? House is 400m2 in size.

Actually it runs perfectly, even now in winter. I deplete the batteries to 30%, but it's usually fully charged by 11am. Summer would be even better. We've changed habits slightly, so tumble dryer and 2 x geyser heating is mainly done around midday, which takes us through the evening now in winter Perhaps an extra battery may help only in winter when there's really no sun. But honestly, that only happens less than 10 days a year. So ultimately happy with the setup
@Din2580Ай бұрын
On semi-cloudy days you'd wish you had more panels. Over paneling isn't a bad thing and having backup battery power available for at least 3 days without the sun is also nice-to-haves which will become ideal if you want to go completely off-grid.

Have a 5kWh deye + 5kWh LI battery + 8 x 450w panels. No issues so far and more than sufficient in running the home during loadshedding (have a gas stove and geyser, oven and poolpump not connected to the solar). Battery depletes to around 60% after 4 hour loadshedding.

Deye & Sunsynk is the same hardware, the software is different. What huge loads do they have so they can use them, moreso during the day. In winter or rainy months, they’ll not need to worry about Loadshedding. Is the house split to Essentials & non-essentials?

Interesting the comment on that this system is oversized. Question...what is yhe kw/h usage per day and what appliances is connected. I have a 8kva Deye inverter and all appliances is connected...even the 200l geyeser with a smart switch. Have 8 x 550w pannels on a string with 2 strings connected to each mppt.

Hallo Johan. Ja, I mean the PV is oversized as 80% of the time the system isn't utilising the full PV capacity. What they should do is increase the battery bank so that they maximise their PV.

The 5kw Deye has a huge heatsink and has only 1 fan the comes on when pushed really hard. The entire back is a heatsink and does a really good job. You can hear the fan but it is not loud enough to be annoying and very seldom comes on.

My solar system is not performing too well on a hot day as well at the moment according to the app & I have complained to my installer about this. I am also not sure if it's an Ouco inverter setting configeration issue or a solar problem here. Can you send me your email address so that I can send you more info on my inverter solar app.

Could be that the voltage from the panels are in excess of the maximum input voltage of the inverter. Or the panels are heating up. Sounds like the former. Leave your email with me and I'll contact you.

@@ElecAndAll Yes similar to the Deye inverter. Mppt input voltage 120-500V. Mechanical is different with electrical. As long as your Capacity is correct, it will last. Oversizing in electrical is usually to avoid overloading events from damage due to excess cyrrent/voltage due to non-normal events.
