Your consumption is very high compared to mine. I only do around 10 to 15kWh per day. Gas stove. A+++ fridge and freezer. 2kw element in the geyser on a timer from 11am to 3pm. LED lights throughout the house. 2 occupants. My setup is 5 kw luxpower into 2 dyness A4800. Panels are 2 x 5 strings of Qsolar 580W. My import this month due to overcast or rainy conditions has been around 5kw but normally it is 0. Thanks for your videos, they are very informative

On semi-cloudy days you'd wish you had more panels. Over paneling isn't a bad thing and having backup battery power available for at least 3 days without the sun is also nice-to-haves which will become ideal if you want to go completely off-grid.

Why do you not use solar to heat your boilers? You could have used PVT panels to heat your boilers and heat the house by floorheating from the solar boilers too. Even the winters un SA have plenty of sunshine. (Been there)

@ElecAndAll Exactly lmao. If his statemEnt was anywhere remotely true, Voltage.Transformers that convert grid power voltages would all die within 2 years lmao. Mechanical is different with electrical. As long as your Capacity is correct, it will last. Oversizing in electrical is usually to avoid overloading events from damage due to excess cyrrent/voltage due to non-normal events.

Simple question, what happens if your batteries are full and the pv generates more than what you use, you can't sell back to the grid (net metering), so where does the excess generated electricity go?
@ElecAndAll10 ай бұрын
I can push to the grid, but I don't do so since it's an externality. It's wasted..this usually happens a on a perfectly sunny day. So after 1330, about 60% is wasted.
