This is stunning. To counter the jab like that, to defend the push kick or even the teep - it looks so simple, yet it's so hard, nearly impossible to come up with that on your own. This is the best channel for amateur Muay Thai practitioners. Hands down, it is.

I am really crap, but what I want to know is why I am trapped, or feel trapped, into attacking face to face, rather than slipping and attacking from a side, like this "Emperor," Lomachenko, Manny Pacquiao, and Tyson Fury. It is partly because I only know (and then badly) how to attack from the front, but it is also a psychological thing that makes me keep facing my opponent, almost due to manners. I think perhaps I need to see my opponent as a block of something inan imate and to ignore *its* front face, and move around *it* rather than seeing *it* (that body that I am attempting to attack) as a person, that I need to keep facing, (as I repeat myself) almost out of manners. Perhaps I need to use a big bag more. Big bags have no front.
@8limbsUs5 жыл бұрын
Namsaknoi (and many others) make eye-contact. Psychologically you're still "face to face" or engaging while moving side to side. If I were talking to you and had to step aside or pick something up, if I maintained eye contact you wouldn't feel I was being rude, right? Maybe try it. I'm working on it a lot right now.
@nihonbunka5 жыл бұрын
@@8limbsUs Thank you! I usually do not make eye contact so this may well help (help me move, and help make the opponent feel that I have not moved).
@underzerogravity81845 жыл бұрын
sylvie, there's this movement in muay thai where you take an angle, one hand goes high and the other parries the hand while you take an angle. it's something I see all the time but never seen taught or explained. do you know what I'm talking about?
