The first batch is called the "Founders Batch". This is very limited because we don't want to get overwhelmed. Thanks for all those who already supported us.
New orders for kits and pre-built machines ship in late March.
More info on the website. ston-3d.com/
Print speed= 700mm/sec at 50k accel.
Travel= 1500mm/sec at 50k accel.
Fan = 40% (however the remaining 60% is not linear power, you can try it.)
Min layer time 1sec.
All within the rules.
Motors warm. Not hot. Can push them more. But we will give her a break and do some FLEX, or PCCF next. What do you think?

Unfortunately not possible at the moment. We are near the practical limit now in the video. I keep the motors cooler than most people. Optimizations in filament type, part cooling, and g-code will take it from here.

If you had a more cooling (aux fans) those overhangs would be great. First non-Bambu printer that I might actually be interested in buying, once you have a regulated chamber. I'd like to see a slower max quality print with silk PLA--show me the surface finish on an L-bracket, especially where input shaping is essential.

I wonder, while there is no enclosure, could one just simply insert a Klipper Macro that prints the first few layers in PLA or another non-challenging material, then demands a filament change from the user and then continues with ABS or another, more warping-prone material, as we have seen it done on other machines as well?

I don't like it when companies compare. They are usually BS. Just trying to get as close as I can with the camera, so I don't hide anything. I don't see many doing that. People can make their own judgments. I am confident it will do alright in a comparison. ;)

how does it do with higher temp materials like nylon? and does printing at that speed affect the strength of parts? I use printing for functional prints

Me too. This PLA Benchy crap is just for You-tube. Its clear, that's what "people want to see it do". But not me. There has been quite some study into print speed and strength. Its not so straight forward. Prusa did a big study on it, not sure if its public. Short answer: yes you can get fast and strong. Sometimes stronger than going slow because the plastic is still hot. But less time applying pressure to make it stick. Long answer; trust me people dont want to hear it.

Nozzle size and layer height? Edit: heard the 0.2 layer at the end. Assume 0.4 nozzle? How fast can you print a 0.6 or 0.8 nozzle? 😊
@STōN-3D
@STōN-3D 5 күн бұрын
yes 0.4 nozzle. 0.6 or 0.8 prints slower linear speed and with less detail. Unless you raise layer height its not worth it. But then the detail is lost further. 0.3 to 0.5mm is the sweet spot for this particular market, hence 0.4

@@STōN-3D sometimes I print large (8x8x12 inch) initial prototypes or final models where I don't care about obvious layer lines. On my Sidewinder it could push enough plastic to make the thicker layers worth it. On the Ston-Wolf, I wonder if it can move fast enough with 0.4 nozzle at 0.2 layer height to use up all of the (45mm^3?) flow from the hot end, so that there's no benefit of using a larger nozzle...
