Just got this beauty at an Antique festival and I couldn’t be more excited to try it out. Very helpful video, it’s like talking to a friend. Thank you!

Helpful Video. Thanks ! Bought one this morning at an estate sale, and you're right, very little on line about them. I need to research how to clean the case and leather covers on both sides. One side is pretty dried out. Thanks again for the helpful video.

No problem, glad to help! I've found that the Armor All protectant wipes for car interiors does a good job if cleaning and preserving that old false leather.

Thank you!! I just started collecting antique cameras and this and the Brownie are my latest treasures! I am so happy you can explain these things, I would have never figured it out. :D Where does one even get film for these though? I haven't looked that up yet! ;) I need to go and watch your Brownie video now. :D

I have this exact camera and manual. The "A" red filter is to be used with type "A" indoor film to convert it to shooting outdoor. The "H" (yellow) is a Haze filter to be used when photographing outdoor scenes with Kodachrome Daylight colour film (no longer produced), reducing blue haze and adding warmth. The "N" stands for "none" and is the setting one would shoot with most the time. If you were to shoot B&W film (uncommon when these cameras were produced, designed to use Kodachrome) you would shoot through a yellow, red or green filter on the lens. Don't follow the aperture chart suggestions on these old cameras, these were suggestions for cine cameras made in the 50s and early 60s when film had ISO of 25, 40 max. Double 8 film wasn't as sensitive to light as you can find made today. Meter your camera to the 30th sec shutter rate and the ISO of the film to get proper aperture.

Would the haze filter be good as a daylight filter so the film doesn't overexpose.
@GSchmitable10 ай бұрын
@@loganburde2838using filter as a nd filter would have very little effect on amount of light reaching film.

Thank you for this I'm planning on getting a Keystone K-27 and I had been wondering if anyone in the youtube community did a video about it. Low and behold you did thank you for this.

Hi, just found one of these, it seems to operate, but how could I find film for it to test it out? Thanks in advance, hopefully. It's a seriously cool camera.

Just came across my grandpas k27 today and was searching for information. Your video was very helpful and coincidental how recent you made it. Everything seems to be working on it and there's film already in it (very old and probably not very sensitive anymore). Is 8mm film just like a photography film where if I open the back it all gets exposed and is then useless?
@zoyakeys11474 жыл бұрын
Wow that's great! It's always nice to come across a treasure like that. With the film, it's not necessarily exposed, so long as you didn't unroll a whole lot. The unrolled section was definitely exposed, but the middle sections are most likely safe.
