8s On 18s! 1000whp Procharged C7 Z06 | JTM Motorsports |

Dave added some new mods to the C7z that's I've featured roll racing recently and put on a set of skinnies with plans to hit the 1/4 mile. Temps were low and not much rubber being laid down during the track rental didn't help, but he was able to click off the first 8-sec 1/4 mile pass running 18" drag radials in a C7 Vette. Maybe its time for a full drag pack for the rental next month?

Too everyone complaining about the shifts it needs more trans tunning that's all. These 8L90s can handle well over 1000hp out of the box.

Transmission or converter is slipping its ass off... it’s not spinning after shifts in 3rd/4th... I’m betting the torque model is off in the tune and the trans is slipping. Won’t be long til they kill the trans. Killer 60’ on 18s tho... car has a lot of potential.

1dumpedviper regardless of how you feel the the 10r80 and zf hp90 are nearly identical in design and unlike any previous Ford or gm transmission and have a nominal torque capacity of 800newton meters (590lbft) and the zf hp95 has a nominal torque capacity of 950 newton meters (700 lbft)

The block is the factory, they make aftermarket blocks. This is the wording the GM guys use.

Dude, stock block = factory block, bearings, connecting rods and pistons. Stock block. Heads, cam, forced induction is not part of the block.

SixTwevle18:. The 2nd gear shift is probably what they are talking about. I’ve actually seen and heard it in another video with a diff C7. In this one, if you look at the interior view...you can see the drivers head go from being pulled back, to slamming forward and then back again, plus you can hear the delay compared to all the other gears. It was on the 3rd pass when he ran only a 1.58 or 1.56 60’ (couldn’t tell from the sun glare) Also, his trap speed at the 1/4 was only 144.xx compared to the 157mph pass before when he just “rolled into it” and ran a much slower 1.75 60’. Pretty good evidence that there is a hiccup going into 2nd when a test pass results in a slow 1.75 60’ but trapping 157mph, only to then run a faster 1.58/56 60’ but lose 8mph down track. Those are my thoughts anyways. Hopefully that helps with what all the people might be noticing.
