Can someone please explain the 'Oi' that these men are shouting? Is it a tradition that is unique to 8/9? Haven't seen it from other units

Basically back in the day it was to let people know the soldiers were comming home from the field Basically put dinner on or get rid of the bloke you were shagging while I was out

Saw the Aussie flag -anyone mind sharing with is 8-9 RAR mean and is it an infantry regiment ?

8th Battalion and 9th Battalion were two separate Battalions that served in the Vietnam war. After the war the Army downsized and joined the Battalions together to form 8/9 RAR. They are an Infantry Battalion that are a part of The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR). RAR is the Regular (Full Time) and most senior regiment of the Royal Australian Infantry Corp (RAINF).
