Hello Thomas - I count it as a highlight in my life that I spent some time (too short) in Malta seven years ago. Went everywhere, met people, in a low- key sort of way, ate the local fare, saw everything, I was in heaven. I had wanted to go to Malta forever, and I was not disappointed in any way. I don't think NATO matters as much as many people think in terms of our peoples uniting in defense of our homes and families. Reciprocation cannot happen without someone starting the ball rolling...and we won't fail to help unless some fool "leader" stops us. Imho, there are far too many Irish-American families with strong ties to Ireland for your attitude to hold sway overall.

Bloody marvellous! My mum was a Scot and I inherited a love for Scotland and the skirl of the pipes. Many years ago I lived in the adelaide hills in Australia. Every week on a Sunday evening one of my neighbours played his bagpipes. It echoed thru our valley and brought tears to my eyes as I thought of mum listening to. 🦋🇦🇺

In the Netherlands they like the bag pipes performing at the remembrance services for the fallen (especially WW2). My mom explained she had experienced them honouring the resistance in our province of Drenthe. Liberated by the Canadians, French and Polish. Lest we forget

New Yorker here - I was only half-paying attention, waiting for the music to begin, then saw US Navy uniforms. THAT got my attention... What? Us Yanks here? Awesome ! Funny how we've fought against the Brits twice, with them more times than we can count, and they're still some of our best friends.... One of my best personal friends is a transplanted Brit.
