tyler Whitney. D6 damage is D6 damage. But the Neutron Laser has a special rule that states that a roll of a 1 or 2 always counts as a 3.

44:30 you can only attack the unit you charged regardless of where pile in moves take your model. The datasmith should have been safe and able to swing back.

With the exception of chargers, combat alternates. After you attack with everyone who charges, you then select one unit to attack, then your opponent, then back to you, then back to him, etc... etc...

it's a easy rule: you look up what you need to roll to hit (or wound) that number you can re-roll. so if it says 3 then you can reroll all 3's and lower. THEN you add the modifer, +1 for move. It's with all the re-rols and told in the FAQ

500+ points of models lost in the first round of shooting combined with Draigo rerolling THE ENTIRE ARMY pretty much sealed it. AdMech getting plenty of bad rolls was just icing on the cake, but not even reversing some of those 1s and 2s would have fixed much IMO.

Think you had a 6+ save aganist lascannons you didn't take. Also some rerolls shouldn't have happened with the heavy modifier since you reroll before modifiers. So if you hit on 3s and -1 to hit, you don't reroll 3s even if they will miss.

Oddly if you are using Cawls lord of mars reroll you don't need to worry about the whole modifier after reroll thing because his reroll is worded differently, it doesn't say anything about it being failed hits he just lets you reroll hits in the shooting phase. which does actually mean you could use him to reroll your successful hits too if you were so inclined.

I think the terrain was a huge part that hurt winters. Because the knights could move as a blob and reroll constantly. If it would have been a larger map that made the armies separate more would have drastically helped winters. Lessons were learned.

I think you only way you were going to stop these guys was to get turn one somehow, kill both fliers then maybe add more gun to the army and try to pick them off before they get to you. Very interesting battle report.

Aidan Howell no due to the brotherhood of psykers rule if the model dying because of the perils of is part of the squad with this rule the mortal wounds are suffered by the squad only if all models are slain does it spill outwards

Doesn't the plus one for firing a heavy weapon apply to vehicles also that means if the storm ravens are firing heavy weapons they're hitting on fours. But I put in a caveat I do not have a great knight book yet so I do not know their weapon skills for ballistic skills.

+winters SEO Draigo's Titansword is not 2x Strength, its +4. Effectively the same you said, but could have been way more devastating with your wording when hammerhanded! :O

The Titansword is actually +4 str not x2 lol. I suppose if something could reduce Draigo's strength, the additive bonus would be better than the multiplicative one.

Great battle report winters! I haven't played for quite a few editions but your excellent reports make me want to get back in the game... Couple of observations: Could your HQ have healed the cataphrons in the first turn? And couldn't Cawl and the rust stalkers pour some fire into the fliers as well? And most importantly, don't forget to tank d2 or more wounds on models with only one wound left - you could've saved another ruststalker in that combat.

+littlethoughts. Cawl could have shot the flier but he forgot to pull the trigger. Ruststalkers don't have guns to shoot with. Can't split wounds - wounded models always get wounded first in this edition.

excellent battle report! coming from a 7th edition mindset of a Grey Knight player I was so sure that Mechanicus list will turn the Terminators into target practice models... what a nice surprise! There weren't many mistakes in general, and most have been addressed in other comments, so I'll just point out a few I've noticed: Nemesis hammers do 3 damage flat, not d3 46:28 you could have spent a command point to re-roll the other dice for the Peril of the Warp 32:02 There were actually 3 wounds from the Dreadknight, but you saved against only 2 54:27

I would say that Gate of Infinity does count as a fall back move as GW already ruled that using the waypipes for the Sylvaneth Tree Revenants counts as falling back and it's a pretty similar rule.

The lack of terrain on the Admech side of the table made the alphastrike even more brutal. Although the table looked quite thematic, I think that this edition really has to be played with more LoS blocking terrain.

Not for standard Grey Knight units - it's modified to range 12" & 1 Mortal Wound. Though it reverts to the standard if a character casts it.

It also does 3 flat mortal wounds to keyword daemon units instead of the one. Purifiers always do d6 mortal wounds but they only have a 3" range.

The new Faq is out. rerolls are before modifyers. If you move a psycannon you roll 4 dices. get 1 3 4 4. you acually only reroll the 1 if your with in 12 of kaldor drago, as it says failed hits. that 1 becomes a 3. end up with 3 3 4 4. subtract 1 from all of them as you moved with a heavy weapon. so you now have 2 2 3 3. 2 misses. so rerolls before modifyers. cawl is the only exception to this as his says any hit rolls not only failed.

I really love your battle reports and I've been watching them for months now. Keep up the good work! However, you've done it a couple times now: mistakes in deployment. Units in transports don't count towards what you've deployed on the table. So the stormravens, despite being full of units, count as a single drop each, and therefore only count as one each towards the '50% deployed on the table' rule for reserves. Still a great report though!

winters SEO I saw a guy clean up at the local tournament. He ran cawl, 6 onagers, Celestine, and a smattering of battle sisters. Onagers really put out the dakka but are dramatically tougher than destroyers. Destroyers end up costing like artillery but dying like infantry.

There seems to be a really bad imbalance with space marines alpha striking, since 8th has launched ive played my mates ultramarines with my admech 3 times and got battered 3 times. They always go first They re-roll hits They re-roll wounds I don't see how you are supposed to counter it, with all those re-rolls they out shoot mechanicus and we are more squishy than them.

Great game guys. All distances are mesured from and to base of the model. Measuring Hull from vehicles is only taken to account if they do not have a base to begin with (read tools of war). Stormravens should have been much closer to Draigo.

I think you're correct. Armies can only attempt one power per phase. I'm an Inquisition/Grey Knight player, so I have to be watchful for that.

That AD mech list was just...so friendly to say the least : ) Kastelan robots that can have 18 shots each (with their 2 shooting phases through their stance) that would straith up annihilate the terminators. Or not choosing Karus weapons(you can shoot with all its profiles!) for Dune Crawlers (who the hell choses Neutron lasers are you serious, its like saying yes I want to lose this game on purpose) "wow that alpha strike list is so good!" Of course it is when the game is decided immediately as you look on the Ad mechs list which was just...friendly : )

Phillip Brooks i think in this situation icarus arrays would have been beneficial, there wasnt enough armour to justify neoutron lasers, eradication beamers and iccarus arrays, + protocols on castelan robots could have swayed the battle imo
