Do You (or anyone else who might be reading this) remember Kris Kristofferson? To the best of my information he was a helicopter pilot with some hq outfit of the 8th division in the early 60s which would have placed him at Bad Kreuznach ...

Yes, Kris Kristofferson was stationed at Bad Kreuznach same time frame and some of the guys knew him from the Rod and Gun Club. Wish I had been interested in the Rod and Gun Club. It would have very cool to have known him then. Most of my signal battalion buddies have left roll call after some great reunions. Maybe a hand full of us left standing. Sorry that’s all I got.

Thank You for Your response, that was more than I was hoping for! And now that I do know that my deduction from infos from about half a dozen internetsites is correct indeed. I was passing through Bad Kreuznach in 2002, only a few months after the US Army closed shop there. Evereything was still in place, includiong the Army airfield with hangar and tower. Nothing remains od the airfield, but some buildings from Rose barracks. Anyway, my thanks to You and Your army buddies for Your service in my homecountry of West Germany, from a grateful cold war kid🪖

Wait a minute, why do they show a 8th Infantry Patch then show 1st Infantry Patch soon after. I was part of both 8th Infantry then 1st Infantry at Bliss. I was also in 2nd Infantry. I wanted to be in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th also😂 but, I served my country well
