I used to go to a shop that regularly held chaos draft events with repacks like this. It was a great way for them to get rid of cards harder to get rid of and the events were really fun, you'd see standard cards up against dark rituals and fireballs.

I feel like stores generally dont try to sell misprinted cards at a premium. Probably dont want to deal with the hassle of some people complaining or trying to sell it on ebay or a facebook group or whatever. I figure the best ones might get snagged by staff (perk of the job I guess) and the rest get tossed into lots like this. Ive also gotten a few really nice cards graded at light or moderately played that were actually in pretty great condition, but were just off centre, so sometimes they actually sell them at a discount. Some serious "jokes on you, im into that" energy when that happens.

Card Kingdom does something similar called fools gold and it’s all signed cards, misprints and foreign foils, they’re so much fun but they sell out in less than an hour whenever they have them.

Here in Finland we have a convention(s?) where they have a flea market/thrift store hall where attendees can sign up to sell their own stuff. Wife and I picked up some magic cards from someone who'd clearly used to play but didn't really anymore and got some pretty banger stuff - one of mine for 2 bucks had an original Pongify (which i could see) and a Guardian Project, and she got some good older foils (one of the original time spiral block gorgons, the one that got a reprint in TSR, for instance) Sometimes the gamble is worth it, especially when you know it's older cards

I have wanted to do a chaos draft of the Hidden Gems boosters so badly since they started making them. So cool, and honestly pretty good value too if you don't mind your cards having a little extra personality.

You asked if there was a way to make everything blue, including all your opponent's stuff - yes, a card called Painter's Servant, used quite often in Legacy in combination with Grindstone to mill out your opponent

Ist actually not that easy to find a customer for these type of cards. Probably was sitting there for years until they said...."whatever, no ones gonna buy that". I am sitting on a foil goblin matrone from 7th. Its a 200€ card...... the stores dont even want to give me an offer cause they think they cant sell it.

Given what FacetoFace tried to offer me for a FTV Mox Diamond that had never been touched by human hands, I'm pretty sure they spent more on the plastic packaging than the cards.

The lightly beat up cards are also still tradable to newer players who haven't seen older cards, at a deep discount of course. I've made a lot of friends trading old cards to new players that way over the years.

You know, the first two types of packs wouldnt be that bad for a chaos draft or for getting something for a cube. Even if they are a bit beat up, that just means theyre loved.

Yes this cards have value... in theorhy. In practice there is really low demand for old cards that are not N/M. Stuff like that is extremaly hard to sell online and usual is only a source of troubles with online buyers. "You told me it's EX but it is LP, I want a refund." Selling this card online would be a pain so they bundled it up as a: "value" boosters. Dont buy those.

Kind of disappointed in face to face honestly, I was going to order 10 of the packs for around $30, shipping was $27, which is about $18 over the actual shipping cost. I wish them well but I won't be back.
