The sirens only whoop in coastal areas for a HAZMAT tone. If you're not near a coast you'll only hear the steady tone.

That tone sounds similarly to how the tone used for the Severn Side Sirens sound in Bristol which are also used for chemical spills.

@DigitalEagleInc I have heard that the vibrations during the Windup/Winddown interfere with the soundcard.

This siren replaced an FS&S STL-10 located at 91 Komohana Street back in 1999. The pole for the old siren is still standing there to this day. Hope this helps!
