such a moving scene, the climax of the emotional journey eddie’s taken this season, with his hard work in therapy finally paying off. ryan has been incredible all season, but this moment of pure relief and genuine heartache at being heard and valued by his father after all this time, while mourning the time they lost and he spent hurt by him, truly amazing! hope eddie stays a major player next season, because he’s done such an amazing job and the depth this arc has added to his character is incredible!

No because we're coming to the end of Eddie's "Eddie begins" arc. he's not ending, persay, but he is fixing his life and putting it back together the way it needs to be to heal.

as much as i hate a parent redemption arc, it's what eddie needed. ramon not making an effort would have killed a part of eddie (even if it was practically dead. but who doesn't have the tiniest hope that things may turn our better when that's all they ever wanted).

Agreed that they didn’t have to go this route but if we do see Ramon making genuine strides to atone for his wrongs just as Antonia did, I think it won’t be all that bad.

And in the end I think Eddie really did get his message across. In 0:36, you see the shift in Ramon's face. For the longest time, he thought he was setting an example for Eddie so to hear that instead he created a model of behavior that repulsed his son must have been a serious gut punch. To realize that instead of being a role model, Ramon's ways were a model that his son swore to oppose at all costs must have shown Ramon how much he let his son down. In Season 7, when Eddie was confronted with Christopher wanting to go to Texas, Ramon by then has learned from his mistakes. Christopher needed space and Ramon was qualified to give Eddie the advice to listen to his son. As Ramon put it, "Don't wait thirty years before you listen. You'll regret it." Ramon didn't pay attention to how much his actions and behaviors alienated him from his son and did not take into account what Eddie wanted and needed from his father which was his presence. And Ramon missed out on most of Eddie's life because of it. This scene is about Ramon finally acknowledging that mistake

I think maybe when I start watching the show more often and how I see how he is like when he cries, I might cry too.

wasn't really a big fan of how they did the Texas story, but it was important for Eddie. Glad he's taking care now for himself and not because he's doing it for others

Western culture n ours is so different. We respect m value what he does. I grew up in a family where my dad would always come at home at night n fight with mon n beat us. It continued till we were in 8th standards n big enough to save our mom. But they never had divorce and we never hated each others. We still love him n care for him till his death n miss him too coz he is our dad. That's our value. Mom died thinking of him despite off all the pain she have to endure. That is what u call a family.

I'm from traditional culture too 😊with same upbringing 😊I still talk to my dad after all the shi* he put us tru ☺️ but difference is I don't freaking think THAT bullshi* is what you call family 😊 I will NEVER ... EVER let my husband put his hand on me , if he does, he is dea* 😊one way or another ☺️ stop blaming western culture for y'all fu*k up traditions just because human rights is more important there (LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!) 😊 it's okay to be proud of your culture but at the same time be freaking realistic and call out fuc*Ed up parts of it & talk about how you can change it 😊
