Good summary. I especially appreciate the strategic-level assessment of each spec on each boss, and the things you had to take into consideration that most people will never worry about. I fully expected "something" new on Mythic Sylvanas to favor frost, and when I saw those P1 adds I just knew that was it. But exactly like you said, boss damage ended up being of highest importance and no-one really could've known that. You guys still played great, and it was awesome to see frost mage represented all the way regardless.

I think it's a bit strawman-y though to say that people were picking Arcane based on sims (especially since Frost sims higher)

@@Toegrinder that's fair. I think another main reason that people were high on arcane that I forgot to go over in this vid, was it being more bursty. I don't agree this is always better, and am probably gonna make another video on this topic.

thanks man, I was debating swapping arcane before painsmith and I think this video convinced me that I should since bosses 7-9 are very easy. especially considering my guild has 2 other frost mages lol

i really like kyr arcane in m+ but i am unhappy with it in the raid, the bosses rarely give you time for the ramp, it's often risk it, either youre lucky or you get screwed, best example nerzhul, either you got knockbacked, or there are swirlies, or the black lasers, there is almost no room for a standing still ramp -.-

Did you look at the recent Chinese fire mage logs on Sylvanas? He was doing like 7.5k dps in p3 and topping in p1 & p2.

That mage is also i245 and is getting many PI's. That doesn't mean fire isn't good. But context is important.

Hey Firedup, Great vid and thank you for clarifying a bunch of things that us mages are dying to know as there is not that much good info out there for this class unfortunately. Can you just clarify what you think of trinkets for frost mage. Given equal ilvl which do you believe to be best in what situation? Much appreciated,

I haven't really done much research on trinkets, but I'm pretty sure kt and pain Smith trinket are best
