Being there at the World Trade Center is surreal. I was only 1 year old when 9/11 happened, but I still know how horrible it was. Knowing that so many people perished on that very spot, and so suddenly, is very sobering. I go pay my respects to them every time I visit New York, everyone should. It's terribly sad, but the memorial is breathtaking, and the new complex is nothing short of amazing. It's one of the most important places in history.

You know, I wonder that about a lot of really great videos that I see. I think instead of focusing on the lives lost and honoring them, people would rather focus on the negative and they miss that it's truly an opportunity to honor and treasure those who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Regardless of what you believe and how it happened, that's the most important thing; Honoring those who are no longer with us that had to leave us in such a tragic way.

Lots of symbolism in this from whoever it was that designed this. Very impactful. Brings tears of loss and of anger and i cannot imagine how the family of the victims feel. I do still feel that instead of building something to remember these brave people from the ground up that building it into the ground is somehow troubling and the meaning is complicated. I feel like it is passively retreating and that the memorial should be something we looked up at now down. But...this is my anger to this day. It is lovely and I can see the meaning behind it. I want to go there someday.

I was 18, and a senior in high school when 9/11 happened. I live in the southern section of New Jersey, and will never forget what a nice, clear, bright, crisp, and overall beautiful summer day it was, to the point where the country's (if not the world's) worst terrorist attack would literally have been the last thing on anyone's mind, up until all hell broke loose at 8:45 AM onward. That while also knowing things would never be the same again from that horrid point, and day forward. Scary how this also occurred only a stone's throw away from where I am, especially with someone who's been to N.Y.C. several times, and also had the pleasure of visiting the W.T.C. around a decade or so before 9/11 as well.

I cannot go still after 20 years. Its like going to the grave of murdered family members. I know i will feel like a overwhelming sense of retribution. And my god those young firemen. May god watch over their souls.
