9.200RPM LADA VAZ Race Car On The Limit !! || Onboard Buzet HillClimb 2018

Tamás Tomcsanyi races and prepares quite the unique machine, a LADA 2101, which has evolved tremendously in the last couple years. The 1.6L Naturally Aspirated RWD car from Russia features now Sequential Gearbox and a lot of bespoke bodywork, and while we do not know the exact Power and weight figures ( anyone who does, leave it on the comments below..) given its pace, it should be over 160Hp and less than 800Kg surely. ( Edit: After posting the video, Mr. Tomcsanyi contacted us and gave the current spec: 180Hp/9.200Rpm, 870Kg with the engine from a LADA Niva with forged interior, Hayabusa injector system and Motec ECU ).
But more than that, it is Mr. Tomcsanyi driving style that really stands out, with a quite aggressive approach, never afraid to use some powersliding in the process. For that, this duo certainly deserves our respect and all the support the fans gives them in each event they enter. Like here at Buzet HillClimb 2018.

Saw fast Lada, assumed Fiat twink engine. Assumed wrong! Neat bit of lateral thinking, and I'd love to know more about the car's engineering. Such fluid driving too. 10/10.

This thing has SOHC engine at 10k rpm,lol. Never thought it was possible to double its power output without use of forced induction. This type of Ladas called VFTS,but its usually later 2105 or 2107 models but nonetheless,they're pretty popular in ex-Warsaw pact countries.

I've seen a video of this car that listed specifications. Niva engine block, mated to a hyaboosa head is what it said. There must be witch craft involved.

@@HillClimbMonsters your description says injection system, but does that include the cylinder head? I've seen some strange things done to fit heads on the wrong engines, most times it involves black magic.

In this case we believe it is only injection system. But even if it is all cylinder head, we wouldn´t be surprised and wouldn´t be the strangest combo we have seen. The strangest we have seen so far (and we saw it while being built) was mating a Hayabusa Cylinder head with a Opel Meriva 1.6 CDT-i diesel block. The "Black Magic" involved a lot of machining on both the head and block until everything fitted. By the end neither parts resemble their original form and the money spent to make it work is absurd. And yet, there are guys going for it if it gives them an advantage...
