The old CN locomotives had Zebra stripes.... Have you seen those?

@@tyfrank3427 Yes I like those on the old EMD F units.

@@mikeday62 Up to SD-60Fs and C 40-8s The dash 8 on the video had a standard cab meaning it was ex Union Pacific... CN was the first to use a wide nosed cab, starting in the 1970s with their SD 40-2s

How many trains go through a day there? It's neat seeing so many CN trains in the U.S. That line must be shared by many rail companies.

I'm not sure how many go through here daily but this line is owned by CN. It the former Illinois Central mainline (as far as the tracks that the CN trains are on). BNSF and NS also go through town and share a small portion of track together to cross the CN

I notice in your videos all I seen was the LED signals. Are there any search lights on that line? Here, the CN main line still uses lots of search lights.
@BAHolmes4 жыл бұрын
The CN upgraded a lot of the signals along this line with LEDs. I don't think they've have any search lights on this line in a long time.

@@BAHolmes Here in Alberta and BC on CNs main line to the coast, I noticed predominantly search lights to the coast. I was on it riding the Canadian to Abbotsford. I believe the Yellowhead Pass is CN's only route over the Great Divide. A very busy route...

@@tyfrank3427 I've watched several videos of Canadian trains and noticed that. Unfortunately they're all but gone down here in the states. I would like to take trip to Canada one day and see them before they are replaced up there as well.

@@BAHolmes I wonder if the signal displays on CN are the same as they are in Canada in the US. Ian Juby is a CN conductor in Canada and did an excellent series on Canadian railway signals. CN's mainline between Edmonton and Jasper will likely get a major upgrade as it is in great need of double tracking. There are still predominantly search lights on that line. I crossed the CN main line East of Edmonton recently and noticed LED lights. So that section has at least some LED lights.

Are CN Standard Cab locomotives uncommon nowadays? About a month ago I missed one leading a BNSF train along with a BCRail.
@TrainManBrodie4 жыл бұрын
They're definitely uncommon to see on BNSF property. I don't see them much nowadays, even on CN.
