9/8/2014 Mesa, AZ Major Flash Flooding B-Roll

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning early this morning as heavy thunderstorms and rain associated with what was Hurricane Norbert, which had been downgraded to a tropical depression moved into the area.
The Phoenix, AZ was hit with record setting rain fall for a single day as the remnants of Hurricane Norbert moved into the desert Southwest.
Numerous city streets, highways and interstates were at a stand still this morning.

he water was retained in the culdesacs that backed up to stapley because of the wall that kept those streets closed off to pedestrian traffic. someone, after 2 days, was thoughtful enough to bust a few huge holes in the wall that drained a significant amount of flood water out from the streets. what a difference!

Its been crazy here , people who always have lived in Arizona don't really know how to drive in the rain.

IKR my whole family is from Oregon but we moved to Arizona 13-15 years ago. I've lived here my whole life. It seems like only my folks know how to drive in the rain 😂

Lol I remember this. People were canoeing down our neighborhood street. Luckily, we were safe because our drive way was slanted? Like... Not flat. 😂

Daaaaanng! Tropical Depression? Makes sense! No one has seen flooding happen here in this neighborhood like that, and I live 3 streets down from the park! I was walking in it all day and just couldn't believe this happened! And I think I may have seen you StormChaser :) Which is pretty cool. Thanks for posting!

So many schools closed that day (including bfs) cause it flooded everywhere making it not safe to commute. my dad didn't want to go to work cause of it.
