9/9/24: Francine Expected to Slam into Louisiana as a Hurricane on 9/11

Tropical Storm Francine in the western Gulf is showing signs of organization in the Western Gulf and concern is growing that it will rapidly intensify into at least a Category 2 hurricane before landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday, 9/11. Hurricane watches and storm surge watches have been posted for the Louisiana coast, while those on the coasts of Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama should continue to monitor closely. I saw the alert from The Weather Channel, and part of it looks similar to what was gonna happen during Hurricane Katrina. "Locations may be uninhabitable for weeks."

I think that is probably overkill. It is more in line with storms like Gustav, Delta, and Zeta.

For those in the New Orleans area look to your local weather forcasters & not read too much into those who comment here. The man just said between Lafayette & Baton Rouge as a Catagory 2 & people here are saying Cat 4. No evidence of that at all.
