#9 Cutting the Birch and neighbours visiting me

This week I cut the birch with the help of Ola. What a great professional. He lives very close so I was really lucky. And couple days later he and his wife came to have Swedish Fika 😋
Also there was some reaction from neighbors where I had put the letter in the postbox with my profile. Alexandra and a friend came to visit me. Also Alexandra told me that more people had read my letter but will visit me soon.
Cutting the birch with the chainsaw was so extremely tiring; what a work! I even bought a new Fiskar axe, but I will also need an splitting wedge as the wood is so dense and hard to cut.
But.....despite/with all these challenges, I love this Swedish Outdoor Life 🌲🥳

You should buy Snökäppar/snöpinnar that is sticks with reflex on them that you can put on the sides of your road to make it easier to see where the road is when it's dark. You could also try to find a vedklyv that splits the wood for you into good size for the fire place. Saves you the work of manually having to chop wood

I am really considering that as the pieces are soooo strong that come of the tree 🤪 But a machine will have difficulty too I guess with these pieces

En hydraulisk vedklyv är så bra att ha. Sparar din rygg. Vi har en sån och det är riktigt roligt att se när ved stockarna delas. Bra idé med snöpinnar så du vet var din väg är när snön kommer . Bra hjälp i mörker också.

You need to wait until the owen is warm! And that owen you use like as you use your electric one, no difference only that you use firewood to heat it. It is not like a pizzaowen. This one is much easier to cook on than an electric.. In the beginning you can get a thermometer in it.

KeesJan wat een fantastische video! Ik heb genoten. Wat ga jij daar helemaal back to the basics. En wat zul je soms denken "hoe nu verder?". Voorlopig gaat het goed, je overdrijft niet en past goed op jezelf. Hou dat vol! En die pizza: anderhalf uur 😮, honger maakt echt rauwe bonen zoet! Je gevoelens mbt de boom deel ik 😢, het voelt een beetje als heiligschennis. Maar je had geen keus en je behandelt de boom met respect. Het wordt je niet euvel geduid. Ik hoop dat ik oud genoeg word, want ik ben zo benieuwd hoe het er over vijf/zes jaar uitziet bij je ❤! Ik denk dat papa en mama meekijken hoor! Prachtig om te zien. Dank je wel weer voor deze video, wat veel werk is dat weer geweest. Ik vind het heerlijk zo een beeld te krijgen van waar je mee bezig bent. Blijf goed voor jezelf zorgen!❤😘

@@kjschuil ik woon in Nederland. Volgend jaar zomer voor het eerst naar Zweden om te bikepacken in Zuid-Zweden. Dan krijg ik vermoedelijk het Zweden-virus nog beter te pakken 😉

It's not a pizza oven, when we had these cast iron stoves we'd never heard about pizza. 😂 It's a skill to use old wood stoves.
