Thanks! Yeah, kids have been travelling the backcountry for years, and have grown to love theses kind of adventures, which is nice! I think this is our last year with everyone in a canoe so plan B for next year. Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Amazing trip, Dunne fam! It brought back memories for us seeing this journey. Too bad about the MNRF having a team just ahead of you, snagging all of the good sites the first couple of days! Looks like you got great weather for the trip, but seemed like the water level in the lakes may have been a bit low? The river seemed decent, though! Impressed with how you crammed 5 of you in that one boat, with provisions for 9 days - that's a skill in itself! Well done, gang!

Hey Jay, glad it brought back some memories for you, we definitely used your vid to mark down some camping sites on our map. Yeah, the MNR were a bummer the first two days...as there was no one parked in the Santoy parking lot, so we thought we had the route to ourselves...and climbing up Diablo twice to see the campsite taken was a bit heartbreaking. They were flown in to do a fish study, so hopefully there research went well. Yeah, great weather, hot! Lots of swimming...we could see the lake lines on the rocks looked low, but paddling was easy on the lakes. What we didn't luck out with the MNR, we lucked out with the wind...it seemed to follow us from behind, huge bonus! The river was great, I thought there would be some dragging in the middle of the summer, but I guess all that rain we've been having has kept the river flowing well, no drags. Probably last year of 5 in the canoe...may have to get to Quetico, next year, find some easier paddles as the kids build their skills. Hope you guys have had some fun paddles this summer, look forward to your next adventure.

We had a great time, and it always flies by. Fish spotters are key, HA!!! This circuit was a lot of fun, because you have the big lakes to paddle through, and some fun rapids to work around..nothing gets larger on this route than a CII, mostly swifts, and CI's which makes it fun. This maybe one of the last few trips, where we are all in a canoe. Especially with the new pup. My wife was a hurdler, so that be cool! Hope you are having an amazing weekend, and finding some quiet spots your way!

My kids fav. paddle was the Missinaibi river from Mattice to Moosonee.. we caught a ton of fish, and found a bunch of fossils, and got to take a train back...if that river isn't on your radar yet, worth checking out...or maybe you have paddled it?

Hey Carl, yeah, we live in a remote area of Northern Ontario, very outdoor oriented area. Lucky to live in a place surrounded by lakes and rivers, easy to find a spot to chill on your own. I'd be lost in a big city. Love to visit them! But get confused and disoriented quickly. Hope you guys have a bunch of adventures left this summer. We should be hitting the states soon!
