What a terrific little video record of what it is to walk the WHW. Great music choices too. Brought back all my memories of doing this walk, which was truly the ‘trip of a lifetime’. I grew up in Glasgow and have lived for all but three years of my life in Scotland. The WHW was on my doorstep for pretty much my entire life and embarrassingly I never got round to walking it until I was in my fifties. This walk should be on everyone’s ’bucket list’. Your video has done Scotland proud - well done!

😂 I came on to say the exact same thing and the first comment I see is yours @Romulus8 👌🏻 Absolute legend status achieved, given all her pronunciation of Scots villages, her love of this stunning wee country & her beautiful appreciation of oor drams, beers & culture. This year, more than ever, we needed an American hero (or this year we'd accept just a reminder that good, kind-hearted, sensible, open minded people still exist there)...that hero would be our cracking wee solo hiker. Haste ye back!! Slàinte Mhath🥃

I just stumbled across your vid, and as a 54 y/o Glaswegian, who has walked the way several times, and travelled from Miami to LA, and back again, I can certainly relate to your journey. You said this was your "video of my own, to contribute to the pile", but, if there is a pile, your work is certainly at the top. You must be the ONLY video, on YT, where an American, has pronounced ALL the place names perfectly, I was waiting for to trip up. But you didn't, and you put some of my own countrymen to shame, nailing it like that. It shows you do the research, you have the passion, and the respect to do a walk like that, the justice it deserves. tha thu mar aon againn a-nis! Subbed.

I'm 2/3 of the way through this and I'm loving every minute of it. I just feel like it's genuine and you're really enjoying it. I love how you've put the footage together. Really enjoying watching this. Personally, I've been wanting to walk the west highland way so much but haven't had the time for it. No excuse when I stay around 2 miles from Kelvingrove park. Loch Lomond is one of my favourite places to visit too. Go maybe 2 or 3 weekends in the summer every year. Beautiful place. I feel like some of us Scottish don't appreciate the country enough. I'm one of them. We win most beautiful country every year and we barely travel outwith where we live. Especially us city people. I'm sure you've got a lot of people pondering that thought. In and out of Scotland. Thanks for travelling as far as you did to visit our country. I'd love to know what motivated you to do it.

I did the WHW with my best mate over 8 days in June to celebrate my 60th birthday. Not quite the same itinerary as yours, but you brought back beautiful memories. Looks like you had reasonable weather. We did too, but got blasted with gale drive sleet for 40 minutes on the back of the Devils Staircase on day seven. The afternoon spent in the pub in Kinlochleven made up for it though 😂. I watched dozens of WHW videos in preparation for my trek and yours is up there with the best.

Those sunny autumn days in Scotland are the best. The sun is a wee bit lower in the sky casting shadows on the distant hills. Brilliant. Thanks for a great video. I live in Milngavie and it was good to hear you pronounce the names of my home town correctly. 😅 You also got the ‘ch’ in Loch Lomond spot on. I’m now looking forward to your great glen way video. I hope you had a good time.

Thank You for sharing the wonderful video of your hike along the West Highland Way. It brought back to life those cherished memories of walking the WHW some years ago. We were not as fit as you, or some of our children and grandchildren,^ that managed it in 5 days. We took 5 years!

Wow! 5 days is such an achievement! But taking 5 years is also a wonderful pace to see everything! Good job, everyone! :)

It's known to the westhighlandwayers as Chronic Hill. As half way through the leg from Drymen to Balmaha is torcher.

I don't know either, I'm always surprised people take the time to watch anything I put out there but I've met so many kind strangers this way, and I'm grateful you stopped by.

It’s a pretty easy thing to do, a walk in the park. A lot of people think it’s a huge achievement and brag but not me. Well, I haven’t done it tbh. I once walked all the way through Bellahouston park which is probably harder. We don’t have a name or a T-shirt for that. I kinda call it The Bellahouston Way in my thoughts but I don’t brag about it. Anyway, I did it in one day which is less than nine.

Just came across your channel and brilliant video. I did the WHW 3 year ago now but wild camped along the way that was a challenge on its own 😂. Planning on doing it again with my 16yr old in 2025 but will definitely be booking rooms along the way this time around.

I met folks wild camping and they seemed to have such a great appreciation for the beauty. I bet you got to see so many stars. I am wishing you the best walk in 2025!

Did you know the Drovers is well known for being haunted ! I visited the bar on a deserted winters night and asked the barman if had ever experienced anything unusual in the Inn and he replied " he'd never seen anything in the 400 years he'd been working there 😮!
