9 Drive Throttle Controller Install & Initial Thoughts // Budget Pedal Commander?

Whats goin on guys! Today I take a look at this budget throttle controller and let you know if its worth it and how it drives. Personally I dont like the jerkiness at low speeds, however I do like the economy and comfort mode it offers. If you guys want to further check them out, I will link them below. The sport modes aren’t for stop and go situations. They’re for high speed highway/soft traffic situations, like passing or speeding around people after being stuck behind them for 30 in the fast lane.

Just installed one last night on my 14 Silverado 4.3. I am absolutely amazed by how much it changed the throttle response. It took driving a few times to get use to the difference in the throttle.

Do you need to stop your car before you switch the setting on it or can you switch while you are moving/driving?

If you turn off traction control and use race mode it will be a lot better

Question: should the connections from the disconnected pedal connector (coming from the car) actually be making contact with the second connector connections or is the second connector (from the 9drive) more like a cover then a actual connection point?

Did it effect the idle at all? Saw some reviews where people in ram 1500 had issues with a high idle and/or check engine lights.

I bought one for my 14 tundra to see if an alternative it’s equal to the pedal commander. There’s not a lot of reviews. If I don’t like it I’ll return it . I’ll probably be one of the first tundra owners to review it

Check it out bro I bought mine off of Amazon by the name of electronic throttle controller model ka-898 it's for a 2012 Toyota tundra SR5 crewmax I just installed it today I had the pedal Commander last week. The functionality is the same I don't see any difference whatsoever so far I've driven it maybe 5 10 miles and no problem whatsoever no check engine lights responds every time race mode 0.9 sure does respond like the devil chasing his own tail! Hope to hear back from you let me know about your experience

I have a pedal commander, was happily using it for about 6 months. Unfortunately it got smashed under my seat and malfunctioned. Makes the car go into limp mode and throws the check engine light immediately. Looking forward to checking this 9drive out soon though, seems to be like a worthy alternative.

Hi my car has a suzuki g10b engine its throttle operates manually through a cable that goes to the throttle body. The specified ports of the 9 drive matches ones on my throttle body but i see everyone attaching it to their throttle. Now my car doesnt have an electronic throttle so will it work?

So a month later, I dont really use the sport modes too much. I leave it on Economy mode all the time and see an improvement in MPGs but not a huge improvement. If you hate the lag the truck has, this will definitely fix that for you. I personally dont mind the lag because I drive like a grandma to keep my MPGs as high as I can. But the other day when I shot my most recent C4 Bumper video I put it in racing mode and it kicked the tires out to make for some super fun drifting around. So in conclusion it does do what it says. And theres a lot of adjustability so you will be ale to find a mode and setting that fits your driving style. Like I said, its worth just trying out for yourself and if you dont like it you can send it back.

You should put on a lower setting say abot 2 or 3 not 9

You can't remove it. Once installed, it is there forever... until you buy that magnetic drink holder (aka 9Drive installer tool assistant)

Installed one My 2018 Ram 1500 as soon as I plugged it in had the Christmas lights come on my dash and would not go off and the Truck was trying to accelerate by itself. Sending back immediately. Did anyone else experience this?

They’re identical as far as what they do , difference being , size ,and name branded -I returned the peddle commander after seeing this , and because it was too big on my dash , super happy I did , save 250$ and got this one ! 2018 f150

Nope. I had a sprintbooster. Its good on the lower settings because the rps still jump up quicker but not too quick. I drive manual so it especially helps with things like rev matching and it does help when initially starting to drive. But when you put it up too high it gets too sensative. So when you are driving and you hit a bump and there is any change on the throttle at all you accelerate really easy. It makes it hard for a smooth drive.

thats exactly what was happening with this ebay one. Especially going through bumps and you let off the throttle and get back on it, its very sensitive and not comfortable. But in the lower settings, it better.

@@RyanClowers man the f****** I learned how to drive a vehicle with power plain and simple buddy! No disrespect but I believe you want to get the best out of your vehicle as it was intended. I won't lie when I got mine I was on mode 3.1 and I have a 2012 Toyota tundra SR5 the V8. I took me a while to get used to it but believe me put a little bit of time into it you get used to it nobody else can drive your vehicle that's for sure hahaha
