Thanks for the review. My BMW also is presently having the same issue. one day it just would not go up the hill until I floored the gas pedal. I have unplugged it but I have not disconnected it from behind the gas pedal yet because it still is not giving me full power yet. So I will completely disconnect it from the car and see what happens.

I got mine as well and mine truck stalls out when I pushed the truck real hard and come to a stop No limp mode though. I've just put it in neutral and restart the truck. Sucks for racing ppl lol. Doing wonderful videos love your shit u post Ps keep up on the Oil change all the time on those hemi mine started to get a me Dick from the lifters because I didn't change the oil enough it's better to do it early instead of on time. I know it wasn't the tick from the exhaust.

@Carfleet At what setting were you running the 9-Drive? A high setting could possibly trigger limp mode by pegging the throttle input at 100% or higher for a relatively long time (going "up the hill"). An ECU would likely see this as a stuck throttle and in turn activate limp mode to prevent physical damage. I don't know this for certain, but seems like a possible cause.

I used it for the eco mode I never really put it into the higher modes So I’m not to sure and it was fine for a long time

@@GJJC13 hard to say. I’d say it just makes you drive slower because you don’t get the power right away so it makes you feel like your driving civic haha

I’m having the same issues it’s my EVC on my 2019 4Runner. Never had one issue with this module for 14 months - then, I moved into a new home and the driveway is on a steep incline. My 4Runner throttle doesn’t hardly work (limp mode seems like). I dialed down my EVC Controller from 3 (it’s normal setting for me) to 0 and now it’s doing it less but still, randomly, it’s doing that limp mode thing. I’m going to disconnect it today and see if that fixes my issue. Seems like it will. This truck has never once had any issues at all.

From my experiences when / if the I Drive unit causes your vehicle to go into limp mode it most likely is not the fault of the controller. Try looking at the condition of your "air Flow meter" plus if you are running an aftermarket EGR cheat lead, you will find that these two units do not communicate well with each other and will often go into fault mode. I would rather keep the throttle controller and loose the cheat lead. Find a different way to control your EGR: ECU ramp, Catch can, proper fitted blanking plates with sufficient venting so as the EGR still thinks its operating fully. Lots and lots of different options before you just stop using the controller.

I've had the SpeedForm Tc on my F150 for a couple of years. Now all of the sudden, it throws the wrench sign when I punch it. I unplugged it and all is fine, I just put it on sport mode now. But It was fun when it worked though.

When I installed mine I would have to unplug it and plug it back in every time I turn my truck off. Otherwise I had no throttle. I just got a new one figuring it wouldn't hurt to try again

You can put it on the settings to normal mode or eco and should be the same as taking it out cause it depends on the mode you have it going up hill, throttle might be too sensitive and trigger limp mode.. I guess 🤷🏽‍♂️... not a mechanic, just a thought I have the same cheapo and works fine at the moment 🤞🏽

My thoughts as well. The throttle booster simply multiplies signal voltage from the pedal. so if you are WOT goin up that hill, then it's possible you have overloaded the ECU with "more throttle input" than it believes should be present.

What setting were you using when that happened? Apparently they have an issue with using the eco mode, the same with pedal commander and other high dollar ones. Just curious

Same issue on infiniti g35 It worked fine for about a year and then limp mode while i was driving on the highway during overtaking. After engine restart limp mode gone, throttle works fine. Disconnected it immediately. I thought maybe it happened because of the location - i kept it in the armrest glovebox , and when the ac is on it getting really cold there, but it seems that there is some internal problem.

Limp mode.. what was the engine code ?? I was getting this ( and still am ) under load with my v6. Can't haul a camper in the half ton bed anymore... It was a cps code, replaced the sensor worked ok a bit then had it again. I adopted to putting truck into neutral and restarting engine on the fly to get out of limp. It's fine daily driving around the city, but when I was taking the coke highway and up to squamish last year from yyc to Vancouver it wasn't happy. Only thing I can think after seeing yours is if its the T harness interrupting the signal. Wish you'd have pulled the code to get a true diagnosis.

Same here I installed on 2017 Tacoma it worked great for about 2 years than the truck won’t accelerate anymore on the freeway sometimes or on any surface so yes it still turns on but there is something wrong internally . Rip 9 Drive

Some of these controllers if you try to switch modes during acceleration it will throw it into limp mode. Can you confirm that you were changing modes while driving?

No problem My ram went into limp mode and you have like 50% throttle im not sure what would happen if it failed but I’d assume you’d go to limp mode before it fails? Not to sure

mine threw a throttle voltage code and would not allow any input through the gas pedal. This is after 2 years of running it. just did it all of the sudden and as soon as i took it out, it ran fine. its now a paper weight i still hold on to for some reason.

I’m not sure about these mods, but can’t you connect the module, make your adjustment, then disconnect the module and your car stays with that new setting? Yes… if you want to change things then you need to reinstall the module, but if you find a setting you prefer, then all is good.

Yeah, 4.7 shouldn't be slow. My 2012 4.7 will keep up with a hemi til about 55 mph and then the hemi will pull on me big time. Intake manifold gaskets are a pretty common issue on the 4.7 and that can definitely cause sluggishness due to improper air/fuel ratio. It can also cause awful gas mileage.

I’ve had one in my Raptor for about a year and am now having similar issues. It seems like since they intercept and manipulate the computer signals that they can potentially throw off everything in the CAN-bus system.
