For those wondering, no these feral cats are not pets. If you're confused why in Australia we hunt these invasive killers please google "feral cats in Australia".
Here's a extract from an Australian government study and report if you feel like more information, or using Google is too hard.
"Cats continue to drive population decline in Australian native animal species. Predation by cats is a recognised threat to over 200 nationally threatened species, and 37 listed migratory species (of which nine are also listed as threatened) . Feral cats in Australia kill over 1.5 billion native mammals, birds, reptiles and frogs, and 1.1 billion invertebrates each year. Pet cats kill over 500 million native vertebrate animals each year. Although their overall toll is lower than that imposed by feral cats, because pet cats live at high density, their ‘local’ impacts are much higher than that of feral cats."
Source: Threat abatement plan for predation by feral cats 2023
All this shooting is with my custom 308Win rifle, which I will soon share all the details properly in a rundown video.
Action is a Defiance Machine Tenacity, Triggertech Special trigger, 18 inch Carbon Six Barrel, Wedgetail Industries Suppressor, all in an MDT HTN26 Carbon Fibre Chassis. I'm running Fiocchi factory ammunition with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles and a subsonic rounds, which are reloads using 190 Sub-X projectiles. My thermal scope is a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 and for the scanner I'm a Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 which is 1024x756 resolution !!! Daylight scope, I'm using a Japanese made Zerotech Trace Advanced 4-24x50mm.
If you are interested in a thermal or night vision device in Australia, have a chat with Ben from Hunt the Night. He generally has the best prices anyway in Oz.

I don't understand how in the US feral cats are looked at as an animal to protect when it's clear that based on the Australian experience, the US is headed in the same direction. In urban environments, all four-legged animals of equivalent size are seen as a nuisance with the exception of feral cats. Possums and racoons get re-homed and foxes and coyotes are shot, but for cats there's this Herculean effort to assure no harm comes to them in the form of spading as if the effort does anything to reduce populations of feral cats. Add to that the population of outdoor pet cats and it's a recipe for a future full of cat issues. They're invasive, but as long as there are unreasonable and irresponsible cat owners, there's no way to avoid the issue. It's just a matter of time.

I love cats so very deeply. It breaks my heart to see them deceased but it's an action that needs taking to keep all our other lovely critters alive and thriving. Behind every comment saying "YOU'RE EVIL AHHHH!" is just ultimately just a person wanting to support wild animal life just like yourself. Only difference is they're yet to understand the difficult reality that to keep our ecosystem from being destroyed any more than it already has, this needs to be done. It's sad yes but it'd be a lot sadder if everyone just casually let these cute buggers continue to destroy our ecosystem because many of us have or have once had a cat as a domestic pet/companion.

Back in 71' in Tampa, at an apartment complex, at night no one could sleep due to a female in heat and half a dozen toms were keeping things going...neighbors never said a word as I patrolled the parking lot doing the cull...I soon figured out the key to quick n quiet was locate and i.d. the female, dispatch, and retire early for the evening. Now, if media heard of that these days in USA, I'd be doing 6 months in county lockup. I went from hogs and deer in Gainesville at Un. of Fl., to Tampa and USF where the hunt kept going on. Still have the Remington 22 lr single shot bolt action. It was my grandfather's.

The "haters" don't like your solution, yet make no effort at a different one. Those subsonics likely zip right through the cat chests without any expansion, lethally wounded, but still able to scamper into a tight spot before expiring. You had the lost one's hit on video, the flies and beetles will find it.👍👍

If anyone is in doubt of the impact these things can have. Google the following "feral cat stomach contents" and you will find an image (there are several) that shows dozens of animals found in the stomach of one cat. Outback champion and bloody legend "Ken Lamb" owner of Olympic Dam Transport shot that cat many years ago now, at a place called Red Lake not too far north of Roxby Downs in South Australia. Yes I know him and his wife Val. Typical idiotic and hypocritical mentality that an introduced species has more right to life than the little native animals it is "killing and eating".
