If you want some really cool cells, add just the tiniest drop of hair oil to your white pigment and the lacing will start on its own. It’s MAGICAL! Just a tiny dab, though.

* This comment was to go with your video #4, but as I was typing it the autoplay went on to this video and I didn't realize the comment would show up here, lol! * Your blue geode style coasters turned out gorgeous! I tried making some like this in purple but for some reason I didn't get those lovely striations going into the center. I followed your recipe so I don't know what went wrong. I mixed the purple and white mica powders into the resin until I couldn't see the stick. Do I need more mica powder? Do the coasters need enough thickness for this effect to work? I don't know what to do differently to get this to turn out so would really appreciate any suggestions you might have. The resin I have is Magic Resin's Art Resin and my art room is nice and warm.

Did you pour enough clear into the center of the coaster? It needs the clear to make the effect.

@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 Hi Michelle, I mixed up 60 ml of resin and used 30 ml for the white mica powder, 15 ml for the purple, and 15 ml for the clear. The coaster holds 90 ml total so I figured I would do 2/3 and then topcoat clear with the remaining 30 ml. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it.
