Thanks for acknowledging the Catalan culture!! If I may, though, Catalonia is the name of the country but everything related to Catalonia is Catalan (not Catalonian), i.e. the Catalan flag/culture/food, Catalan (the language), etc. 😊

Thanks for these useful tips. I differ from you slightly on the following: 1) AirBnBs can be a positive when the host is a local resident who lives in the property themselves. 2) In my opinion seeing the inside of Sagrada Familia and walking Las Ramblas are experiences not to be missed (try to find a time when they’re less busy - not easy I know!)

I try to avoid AirBnB's as I object to the problems they cause - not just in Barcelona, but around the world. Up the road in Edinburgh, the same problem can be found, but at a smaller scale compared with Barcelona. In regards to pickpocketing, I've been fine so far, although I play a game. My backpack has a zipped pocket at the back. I don't keep anything in this pocket (in case it is pickpocketed), but I leave the zip partly unzipped. Seeing a partly unzipped zip is like a beacon for these people, and they focus their attention in getting into an empty pocket. I've later found that zip fully unzipped a number of times. Thanks for the comment Scott, big fan of your videos! Agree about Airbnbs, places do seem to be cracking down on them more these days. That's interesting about the pickpocketing test, I also haven't had anything taken in a very long time but as I mentioned, could have happened both those times in Barcelona! By the way, Catalonia has no star in his flag, thats a diferent not oficial flag that some people would like to have as oficial flag, specially people asociated with "left" spectrum of politics

So many mistakes. Catalan, not catalonian. The catalan flag has no star in it. The flag with the star is called l'Estelada and represents the will of the Catalan people of becoming independent. Also, it is clear that Catalonia is not Spanish, that is not just a feeling or something that some people think, that is the reality.

I know I got that first bit wrong, it's easy to accidentally say the wrong word when recording + I didn't realise until I was editing! Didn't know that about the star, I was told about the flag by my tour guide. I said that Catalonia and Spain are different in the video 🙂

Only a small percentage of people living in Cataluña consider themselves " catalonian and not spanish". The rest have a stronger attachment to real facts.
