Do you have wrist pain? FREE Wrist Pain Guides Here: 1-hp.org/gamin...
Or if you're tired of looking for solutions online and unhelpful visits to the doctor. Check out this recent tool we've developed based on our 10+ years of experience working with gamers and professional esports players that will help you completely resolve your wrist pain.
1-hp.org/wrist...
This routine is a little different as it is a FULL injury prevention routine! It involves the following types of exercises:
1. Self-Massage
2. Stretching
3. General Coordination
4. Strengthening and Endurance
The purpose of this routine is to keep your wrist/hand flexible while also developing the strength and endurance in your hands to manage longer periods of play without pain!
HOW SHOULD YOU USE THE ROUTINE?
My best recommendation as I mention in the video is to perform this routine:
3x/Week with a stretching/recovery routine in between the days. I've listed both of my recovery routine links below.
An example of this general health routine would be
Monday: 9 Minute Wrist Warrior
Tuesday: 6 Min Stretching Routine OR 5 min Binge-Proof Wrists
Wednesday: 9 Minute Wrist Warrior
Thursday: 6 Min Stretching Routine OR 5 min Binge-Proof Wrists
Friday: 9 Minute Wrist Warrior
WHEN SHOULD YOU PERFORM IT?
Either after your gaming session or at a separate time (at least 1-2 hours off of your gaming session)
6-Minute Wrist Stretching Routine: • 6-MINUTE WRIST STRETCH...
Binge-Proof Wrists, The 5 Minute Miracle: • EXERCISES FOR GAMERS: ...

I've been hardcore grinding aim trainers for a long time a month and a half ago, i've gotten so much nerve pain that it was impossible to train for more than 30 minutes that I have had to completely stop playing, (was doing 3~5 hour aim sessions back to back with multiple 10h) and realised I am not invincible to this, after doing these stretches for a month and a bit it has eliminated all pain except for a little bit of soreness and made me aware of over-training/straining my hands and realise how serious it is.

I don't make many comments on yoututbe but just wanted to say this guy is a fucking legend. I was struggling with wrist pain (actually more the full hand region and forearm) to the point where I gave up gaming for years. I went to doctors and physios and they always said "use the computer less", and I was convinced I had carpal tunnel or something serious. Then I somehow came across this video around half a year ago and I've been doing these exercises everyday since in addition to some from the other videos which include weights to strengthen the wrist area. I can now play games and basically do what I want, all thanks to this video. Keep up the good work dude, you're a legend

I had tendonitis when I was young and almost had to get surgery for it. This made my wrist tendons really stiff and getting them inflamed was very easy since I was playing 8hrs+ everyday and I struggled to maintain a healthy mouse arm. Recently I have been dealing with much more strain because of aim training and this routine + the 6min one has made a huge difference and I can safely play for extended periods of time without worrying about an injury. Over the last few years League has increasingly been hard on my wrists - I can barely go like 2 half-hour games without feeling some kind of strain these days. I've also gotten more into digital art and 3d modeling because of school recently, so all this time on the computer has been killing me. Your videos, especially this one, have been so much help in managing the pain and building my endurance for stuff that matters to me way more than gaming - thanks a bunch dude.

Man, I played melee, starcraft 2, and dota 2 competitively until I injured my wrists in 2014. Had thought of trying to go pro until I had to give up any real type of play. Was only able to manage my pain enough to be able to do my regular job through a fairly wild ergonomic set up and years of OPT. After 7 years I've just started using a non-vertical mouse for gaming again, without crippling pain. I couldn't have imagined this. If resources like your channel had been around for gaming back then I like to ponder just how different things could have turned out. Thank you so much!

@@MrAchsas Hey - definitely depends on where your pain is but its important to realize a couple things 1. It takes 6 weeks to make a change in strength so there needs to be some patience here 2. There are many reasons why it may have temporarily flared up (check your schedule or volume of play or hand use). This is often a limiting factor as we feel better so we think we can do more. Maintain the same and slightly more hours of play as you gradually build up your endurance 3. This is a general program - depending on where you feel your pain there are more specific exercises! I do this daily, the more I do it, the less I feel the need to. (top 0.4 percent player in Apex legends, top 2 pct in heroshooters e.g Overwatch, Paladins-DPS hitscan, and direct damage main, rifler in CS:GO, etc.) my hands, wrist, forearm, and elbow always has tension going into the day, I do this along w the 6 minute routine, and its definitely helped to relieve issues, and increase endurance (time of comfortable play) a noticeable indicator of my improvement is when I do the carpal tunnel opening, as time goes on there's less friction when I gloss the tendons, and nerve endings :) thank you 1 HP. As someone whose also a former musician, and music graduate this stuff isn't taught generally, and the better you take care of your hands, the more effective your performance, and practice will be, got to a point where it was so bad I felt I had no control. It sucks when you're a semi-pro and up especially competing in FPS.

I thought maybe it could be that my arm was just weak and it would progressively get stronger with the routing but it never changed, i changed to doing the 6 minute post session streatches as a pre session but feel like it leaves me with a bit of the pain. Do you ahve a video/routine i could follow that is right in the middle, where my arm doesnt get tired but gets rid of the pain? Again, love the videos, they are great help!

It could be for some - especially those who have already been dealing with some pain and have less muscular endurance/tissue stress tolerance. If you are currently dealing with some pain, I would do this walkthrough as I mention separate from the gaming session beforehand (1-2 hours before you play or in the morning if you play at night) and then the 6 minute stretch afterwards :)

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Did the exercise about 30 minutes ago so will probably start gaming in maybe an hour. Just started getting some pain, so I'm probably going to tune the gaming down a bit and start doing this consistently. Thank you so much for the answer and for those videos!

I can barely do the carpel tunnel opening one, my fingers don't want to curl and when they do, it hurts. Is this bad??? thanks so much for these videos, you're helping so many people.

The goal for any stretch is not to cause pain but to allow for healthy tension in the tissues (in the CT stretch thumb & pinky muscles in addition to some of your finger flexors). If you are unable to move far into the range that is okay - a gentle to moderate stretch is what we are aiming for and if you are unable to still perform this with that in mind. Try one finger at a time (thumb -> pinky) to achieve some mobility for each one until you can perform the exercise

What does control the motion mean in the context of the negative wrist/finger flexion exercise? Am I to apply weight/resistance with the other hand?

I struggle really hard with negative wrist flexion and the 3 finger pull back with my right hand, I don't know why, it's super tight and it feels like it just gets tighter. I can barely move it on the negative wrist flexion without hurting it.

Do you think foam rolling the forearms would be helpful? That self massage with the elbow feels pretty good so I was wondering.
@1HP
@1HP 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah - it would function the same as self-massaging with the elbows. Instead of using the pressure from your own elbows the pressure would be from the firmness of whichever foam roller you have. You would place your other hand on your forearm to apply pressure into the forearm as it rolls across the table

Lots of pain in my right wrist after an overextension during a stretch routine. Both hands are also weak & I am a little nervous to do more damages .. do you resist as the same time when pushing down/up ?
@1HP
@1HP 3 ай бұрын
@@dominiquesarojini8590 yep you resist as you are going down during the eccentric exercise! If you need some more specific guidance I’d def recommend you check out our consultation services or the wrist pain troubleshooter since they can both help you understand a bit more about pain / what’s acceptable (it’s normal to have some pain and soreness while performing exercise!)
