Totally agree with you. You don’t need to put a lot of products in locs. Buildup makes locs stiff , hard ,dull and break. A good shampoo and some oil used correctly.

Yes, I love my journey. There are a lot of lessons learned about where you are in your own headspace when you start your locs yourself. Growth is not only in hair but we grow to love ourselves as God intended. It's amazing when we cultivate our own locs. It's like growing a beautiful garden of flowers! We are at the same month mark. So keep up the good work.

Your hair is growing so nicely. The volume is everything. I love dr. Bronners. I use the peppermint castile soap for my dry itchy scalp. Then, I wash my actual hair strands with the sisterlocks shampoo. Hope that makes sense. Side question - how long have you had your tragus piercing? Did it hurt a long time? I just had to let my conch close after intense swelling and pain.
@JOSETTEBIANCA3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’ve had my tragus since October 2020. To be honest, it’s a slow healing process but I switched my original piercing myself about a month ago. And it feels 90% healed now.

Hey!!! Happy to see your locs flourishing!!! It’s funny when you said that you started using a controversial shampoo….I already knew what you were going to say 😂! I know you’re about a month ahead of me in the loc journey and I agree that you really don’t need many products! I literally use shampoo, water, and very small amount of oil 1-2x in between washes and that’s it!! Looking forward to your next update/video 👍🏾

I didn’t realize Dr. Bronner’s was controversial. Before my install I researched and most people said they used the Trader Joe’s Tea Tree shampoo, Dr. Bronner’s, and the Suave Clarifying shampoo. I bought the Trader Joe’s and Dr. Bronner’s. I wash weekly. I wash with the Trader Joe’s first, then the Dr. Bronner’s, and I finish up with the Sisterlocks Starter shampoo. I haven’t had an issues yet.
@JOSETTEBIANCA3 жыл бұрын
I think it might be more popular with sisterlocks. And people seemed to complain when they were using only dr. Bronners. How do you like the Trader Joe’s Shampoo?
@ebony5043 жыл бұрын
@@JOSETTEBIANCA Honestly, I don't have an opinion. I use it for my first wash and follow up with the peppermint Dr. Bronner's. Together, I think they leave my scalp and hair feeling clean. Last week, I didn't use the tea tree shampoo because I finished the bottle the week before and didn't replace it. I didn't notice a difference so I may not buy another bottle because Trader Joe's is a far from where I live. I might just add a few drops of tea tree essential oil to the Dr. Bronner's.

I used the peppermint dr bronner for the first 2 years and now my hair doesn't like it any more so i just use unscented dr bronner 3x a month and Neutrogena anti residue once a month.for conditioning I use water or rose water and Carols daughter(sparingly) leave in conditioner. I never have problems with build up or mildew.

SIDE PART! I get my reties done in 2 days with plenty of interruptions and including school runs. I can't find a way to reduce the time. This is my 7th month.
