Your last tip about combing through is definitely true, I didn't on one of my washes and my loctician had a lot of clean up to do when I went for my retie!

I like your vlogs, however one suggestion would be to cut down on the talks in the car and show more content. You’re doing great so far!

Thank you! Yeah, I hear you. Vlogging is harder than it seems especially when you want to be in the moment. I prefer filming sit down content for sure

I went natural about two years ago. And while it was an interesting journey, I actually feel more confident and happy with my Afro and the different things that my hair can do. I’ve always felt constrained by the perm. But the Afro and natural hair there’s just so much you can do. I will do extensions, but I hate it beyond my shoulders. I think black women are the original pixie cut and our Afros are so beautiful.

I love this! Our natural hair is so beautiful, more of us need to realize it. Very true, shorter extensions would be more manageable.

Don’t confuse people you really like locs you just want a new set of locs because you made 600 locs and is too much for to handle . That is why you want another set of loc .

What a great plan, I follow the same rules. Took my locs out one by one while in college loved it, my length was wild. Love watching your channel. AfricaHairGod has a very nice back to basics hair care playlist for 4c hair he is an amazing stylist out of Atlanta who loves 4c hair. The ConAir brush is dope too, don’t be afraid of light stretching once a month. Textured clip ins are also bomb too.

Thank you and yes I’m thinking of adding stretching to my hair routine. I’ll check him out! ☺️

Great. I have also just recently taken down my locs. I got someone else to do it for me but I lost a lot of hair since they were very rough. Best to avoid salons or find a special one that understands caring for natural hair. I will be getting back to locs mid next year and will not make the same mistake of bleaching. I have realised I can't stand the extra bulk and weight from regular braids anymore so I am really in a bind with my 4 inches of uneven 4c hair.

Our natural hair textures look very similar, and it is amazing that the 7 things you mentioned are all things that I either no longer do or will never do. Like you I love my hair texture and have no desire to change it to a looser pattern or straighten it ever again. So, I'm really looking forward to seeing how you manipulate your beautiful strands in their natural state. Great video!!🥰

After I wash my hair I just twist or braid it, let it air dry and leave it. A trim can be at least every 6 months or twice a year.

Yeah I’ve been loving twists so far. Okay got it thanks!

Still in the process of taking down my locs - but I also had to make a list of what products I wanted/needed after only using rose water, oil, and shampoo for my locs 🤭It can be a bit overwhelming on what products and treatments to try to get hair back to optimum health! I think my go-to style for now will be medium sized twists for the first couple of months until I can strengthen up my scalp to then move on to doing small/medium (shmedium?) plaits (basically box braids but just using my own hair). I'm really tender-headed and cannot stand tight braiding so I'll be doing everything on my own. I wish I could do mini-twists, but because my hair is fine and tightly coiled, it's easy to tangle and loc up (the more stretched, the better for my sanity). I'm so excited for your new chapter! I hope you're able to get you hair to the shape that you want and that you enjoy having fun with it 💕

Yes.. I am 8 years loc'd and I did hella research and found you and your first set of beautiful, black locs. I found out how many you had and used your images as my guide to install mine using palm roll. I was sad when you had to cut yours, but i was there for your college journey of dying them. They did look amazing blonde, but I watched the damage and it hurt my heart. But, I knew you had to do what you had to do. I am considering a second set of tiny micro-locs- I have about 220 locs now. I would like 400 locs...We will see.

Excellent vid! I love locs and dont find the term dreads/dreadlocks to be offensive. I've worn my hair locked for nearly 12 years. I'm Christian and the locs are for spiritual reason, but also a part of my Christian and Native American heritage. 😊❤

Congrats on the new journey. The C in L.o.c. is cream so if you find that hair is dry quickly, go for a thicker cream (Carol's daugter coco crème or Camille rose Almond jay, Melanin's twist cream grease) for exemple. Good luck😊

Ohh you’re right. I haven’t tried a cream yet because the light weight leave ins are working so well for me. I’ll try it out in the future to compare the differences. Thanks for the recs!

You look great. I’ll still be watching sense I love your channel vibes. When I was loose natural I would stretch my hair on rollers then style as desired. Now for my baby girl I just throw some of those hair ties in four sections after washing and it does the trick. The hair ties that look like old school phone cords
@JOSETTEBIANCA8 күн бұрын
Thank you! I definitely have to try that out. I’m pretty sure I have some of those hair ties. I’ve seen videos of people stretching their hair with rollers and it looks like a lot of technique is involved.
@MilahandTheChanges8 күн бұрын
@ I didn’t use any techniques bc it was solely to stretch my hair not to maintain the curls. It was what I call a heatless blow out. I would twist then roll my hair on perm rods. Or skip the twist and just grab chunks and roll. You’ll find what works for you through exploring different techniques. Curlformers can make things easier but they can be annoying

Also as your hair grows it opens up more (faster) styling options

@@MilahandTheChanges ahh I got it. And yes I was thinking the same thing. I think styling is a bit more of a challenge the shorter your hair is. Thanks!

Girl you are gorgeous! 🥰😍 But I wanted to inform you that the Mielle oil (the little bottle) was on the news and on KZbin due to users stating that the were loosing hair. So be careful sis.
@JOSETTEBIANCA8 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes I saw all of the videos about hair loss, but the oil hasn’t affected me negatively at all. I’ve been using it for over a year now. I think a lot of people were jumping on the bandwagon with that. I’m sure some people actually experienced hair loss but the whole situation is a bit suspicious to me. Maybe it happened to people who bought the oil after they were bought out by P & G, but mielle claims that the formula hasn’t changed so I’m not sure about that. I’m just using what works for me. I appreciate the concern ☺️
