Thank you for revealing the Truth, on AMD GPUs and their FX CPUs How nv treated its customers during the nf days and having 2 nv cards go up in smoke stock, I moved to ATi and never looked back with the Radeon 9700 Pro. I disregard the tabloid puppet media and slander and do my own research. Never update your drivers every month. Nvidia has had black square artifacts or black screens as of late.

But when you've had Nvidia since the very early days and been very satisfied it's hard to change. It doesn't affect me because I always buy the best value Nvidia card at the right time. So I don't feel I'm paying through the nose. My perception of AMD cards is they are louder,hotter, bigger, consume more power and usually come in xfx , powercolor and sapphire versions(not a fan) I'd probably love one if I bought it but when you've been buying Nvidia since the TNT days then it's hard to make the jump. It's not a blind loyalty

@@letni9506 Information is transparent nowadays, you could just put like "rx 6600 vs rtx 3060 game benchmark" on youtube and see live side by side comparison, way more objective than just using "perception". Which btw on that example the card has comparable performance but rx 6600 surprisingly more power efficient, even more efficient than gtx 1660 super on actual wattage usage benchmark (not listed tdp). I never stick to one brand, always make informed decisions before hand for best value.

I am slowly accumulating storage components both old and new that I can use in builds in present and future. However, I draw the lines on buying cheap storage for things I would only get inconvenienced if I have to rollback to my last bimonthly backup, and more expensive SSDs and HDDs where rolling it back for even the last weekly will give headaches to anyone who needs the latest data.

I have a 3060ti and while she's been great 8gb of vram isn't gonna cut it in the future so I used my best buy credit card and went for the 6800xt instead of the 4070 I originally was gonna buy . I'm not using ray tracing to be honest I'm all about performance. So I'm gonna test it out before I sell my little 3060ti fe.... and and just see how it is. I've watched videos and reviews and everything is great. From what I read and watched not to mention the premium edition of Star Field included.. cant beat it right ?

Have owned an RX 6800 XT since 2021 and been super happy with it, having come from owning mostly NVIDIA GPUs in the past, with which I was also happy with. For me everything else is comparable but the UI is a massive win for AMD, Radeon Software is 2 generations ahead of NV CPL and offers everything in a single package (which you can also customize during install as in leave the Relive stuff out if you don't need it etc). RT performance is better on NVIDIA and DLSS is better than FSR still, but those aren't deal breakers for me. Also worth remembering RT performance is not "bad" on AMD just worse than on NV equivalents. I upgraded from an RTX 2070 to the RX 6800 XT and got better RT performance too as a result (without using upscaling).

@syncmonism
@syncmonism 10 ай бұрын
You made a much better choice. The 6750 XT would honestly worth it even at the same price. The Vram advantage is a big deal. You don't have to worry nearly as much about it, but even at that performance tier, more Vram could be helpful still, though obviously you're getting excellent bang for your buck still. Also, in situations where you do run out of Vram, you probably wouldn't get a great frame-rate even if the card DID have enough Vram, and should probably be turning down settings anyway. The only card with more Vram that's around the same price is the 16GB A770, which is not that easy to find in most regions, and performs SIGNIFICANTLY slower on average. Also, games which would benefit from more than 12GB on the 6750 XT or 6700 XT are likely a result of poor optimization. Having lots of Vram can also help mitigate the effects of not having a lot of system RAM (though system RAM is cheap and very easy to upgrade, so that's not very important), and having more Vram can mitigate the effects of a memory leak as well, which is more useful for playing with games that are in an unfinished state than anything else (again, an edge case). Based on leaks, it sounds like AMD is going to be releasing another 12GB card, likely at around 450 USD, and to me, that's a bit pricey for a 12GB card, given that it's going to be slower than the 6800 XT, which is only about 50-70 bucks more, and has 16GB of Vram.

I've been using Nvidia GPUs for the last 8 years or so, but I also have a PC building side business and I've been absolutely amazed with the Adrenaline software since the release of the 6000 series. I've been running into VRAM related issues with my 3070 at 1440p in some newer games, and I'm strongly considering buying a 7900xt now the price has come down quite a lot. I've seen first hand that the AMD driver issues are massively exaggerated and I honestly think they are offering better value for money in the current generation (at least in the entry level-upper midrange categories). After building so many AMD systems I'm looking forward to finally making the switch myself.

But AMD still does have anything with top tier performance… I find any kind of brand loyalty silly. Any brand can screw up, be it AMD, Intel, Nvidia or Toyota. I like to squeeze as much performance into small cases with custom water cooling. Adding the cost for a custom block for a given gpu means, I want to use that for as long as possible. The PowerColor fighter 6600xt has been insanely awesome. The one software bug I experienced was the constant notify and reset of my 10% overclock settings. Turing it down to a 5% overclock fixed that issue. Out of the 2 dozen games I did have at one point, nearly all would average at 155-165fps at 1080p. After switching to a 1440p monitor, I still get average 130-155fps. The one driver bug I experienced was Fallout 4 which went from 152fps 1080p average to a locked 55fps (exactly 1/3 of monitor's 165) 1440p, and that likely happened because I switched the monitor during gameplay. Possibly the game causing the issue. Have not been able to fix. Will have to reinstall FO4 to fix before launching the FOLondon mod in April.

Games crashing when alt-tabbing, drivers causing fans to stop under load, broken browser hardware acceleration, corrupted desktop apps, none of these things ever happened with AMD. Add to that the much better software experience and the better value for money, I can't imagine myself buying Nvidia again unless there's a massive change.

I bought the exact same 6800 last November and I'm as happy as can be - I think XFX really nailed the cooler design, understatement with no "gamer"-blingbling, just classy. The card runs very cool and quiet and is really a performance beast for the price while being much more energy efficient than it's big sisters. I also had zero driver issues with it. The only negatives are a bit of coil whine, but it's low and not really annoying, also fixable with FPS limiter, and the lenght of the cooler which required a new case here. Still, lovely card. The whole AMD driver issue talk is mostly an urban myth, I never had any more problems with AMD than with nVidia, prefer AMD's software and my last two AMD cards have been a joy (I had the RX580 before). Sure, there's Raytracing performance and DLSS 3, but actually that really, for me, affects only one single game which is basically a nVidia marketing tool: Cyberpunk. I played that one 3 times already, it also looks really good with no RT, and so far couldn't find any other title that would really require an nVidia card for extra eyecandy.

I switched from Nvidia and Intel based systems to And Ryzen and Radeon, quite honestly I have never looked back. I have not had a problem thus far after over a year of ownership. Giving yourself time to do complete uninstalls when updating everything works fine. AMD do things differently and if you give yourself the time to acclimatise properly, the experience and cost savings are good.

For the shader thing, manually resetting your shaders in the AMD app after each driver update has helped me

What resolution are you running the 6700xt? I'm interested on that card.

As someone who has used a 6600 for around 2 years, I can confidently say that Radeon has few to no issues. I have encountered none over those two years. Plus the adrenaline software is a major plus. I love the experience and would recommend.

main issue i had is that when i first got my pc with an all amd build was that the default driver install will opt for latest drivers as soon as they come out so the beta drivers or experimental but only had 1 bad driver even then. but you can set the update to stay on stable versions until the new drivers have been tested enough to see if they are stable and then will update on its own. but with the 7800xt im currently using even the experimental drivers are working fine. also if you have a full amd build i would recommend using SAM enabled as gives a small boost in some games without stability issues atleast for me.

I've had my 6700xt for about a year now and i love it, based on price/performance I won't be switching back to Nvidia anytime soon. Can't wait for AMD's next line up after the 7000 series.

I also had been using Nvidia for several generations without ever considering AMD. However, this generation I decided to get a 7900XT once the price dropped to $750. It has been a great experience, really. My only complaint is that FSR is not nearly as good as DLSS.
@xGoodOldSmurfehx
@xGoodOldSmurfehx 10 ай бұрын
Why would FSR be as good as DLSS? They arent even the same thing at all One is Super Resolution while the other is AI-assisted Super Sampling, AMD currently does not have anything like DLSS (Radeon has AI-assisted performance stuff but so far anything like DLSS are missing despite new GPUs coming out with the technology to run such a thing)

@@xGoodOldSmurfehxDoes it matter? At the end of the day, DLSS is better than FSR, factor it in your buying decisions.

Another great video @RATECHYT I've used BOTH nVidia AND AMD since the early 2000's. They have both leap-frogged each other in the past 20+ years where performance, value and stability are concerned. I usually AVOID major issues because, once I find a stable setup, I don't mess with it unless absolutely necessary. And I use good methodology to test the new setup to make sure it's going to be reliable. I DO NOT just AUTO UPDATE. Microsoft, nVidia, AMD and Intel have ALL moved to a very "Software as a Live Service" model and it sucks! It is almost like people at these companies think "Is it working perfectly? Yes? OK time to MESS WITH IT!" 😂🤣

the same kinda thing happened to me when i moved from a 3060 to a 6750xt the drivers had no issues i just needed to change up a few settings some registry settings too and it worked amazingly in 1440p gaming one of the best purchaces i have ever made cheaper than a 3070 and performs slightly better in the games that i play.

Did you have the same quirks with the 6800 as the 6600?

Only the "no signal" thing when the screen goes to sleep happens from time to time. Shader compiling issue in Apex got fixed at some point after a game update and it turns out it's not a Radeon exclusive problem, people with Nvidia GPUs had the same thing happen to them. Haven't had the chance to use the 6800 with an old motherboard to see if the BIOS lag is there, so I can't say anything about that.
