I'm 11 months sober, also thinking of never going back to drinking. The mental clarity and money I've saved is awesome.

For me it was an amazing feeling to make the decision to not go back. There was too much uncertainty clouding my mind and it felt great to remove that. Congrats on 11 months, you must be approaching your year by now?

Im 6 months semi sober today after 24 years of hardcore abuse. I did have beers for my 50th bday. Which was my only slip up. I puked my guts out later that night. Instant regret. What that taught me was that i was over it. In a way i wanted to test myself. Just not for me anymore. Too old to feel like dog sh*t now. Keep up the content. You help a lot of ppl out. Thank you!

Doesn't have to be a constant trend of upwards progress as long as the overall trend takes you to where you want to be. Thanks for the feedback it means a lot.

Im on day 115 Ive had two occasions where I had wine. fam celebration and my daughters graduation but just a few glasses. I didnt beat myself up -it was a choice, but I dont want to approach this change that way moving forward. Im committed to going at least a year and want to do this entire decade (I turned 60) alcohol free. I joke if I hit 70 feeling it was a wasted effort Ill have a whiskey at that birthday lol Your videos have helped me because my mind seems to work similarly to yours. I also feel reassured by yr experience because I do have the ups and downs, good days and bad days mentally, and it’s reassuring to see another person on the sober journey feel similarly, especially many months in. So I know if the struggle continues not to give up! Ps omg just got to the part where you discuss filming and I think you and I are the only ones left on the planet w an iphone mini lol

Day 13! Any tips for navigating first holiday AF?

Plan exercise every morning while people are hungover
@sober-diary7 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for commenting. I'd need to know more about your specific situation to offer any tips. During my first month I'd committed to going AF for 3 months and I had a strong reason for doing it, therefore I was never going to cave in to any internal or external pressure. During this time I researched all the health benefits of staying AF for 3 months. The combination of an AF challenge, strong purpose and research helped me get through it.

@@sober-diary do you every find your motivation towards sobriety comes and goes but then when it comes back and you’ve just finished a workout you know it’s 1000 percent the correct decision! Crazy how our brains work

@@jdon2020 The trend I’ve found is that whenever I’ve doubted sobriety I’ve revisited the reason I stopped, done a load of research on the benefits and then come back with an even stronger commitment. First it went 3 months, then a year, then forever!
