I really like the idea of "fun kids movie" is connected with "fucked up or gory action movie" with Danny Trejo being the same character in Spy Kids and Machete. A part of the image in my head is Machete seeing his niece and nephew a few steps away from knocking on his door, so he hides all of his deadly weapons, mostly with a wall panel that's covered with guns and knives flips over to all of the gadgets. He's just like "I clean it up for the kids, man, but if they weren't around, I probably would've strangled Floop with his intestines or something." And that he's an agent for the same place the Spy Kids are working for, mainly implying that the kids won't have fun and colorful missions forever.

The reference ending was one of the best parts of the film for me, especially because I'm a fan of the referenced film and M.Night Shamaylan's other work. I especially liked it due to how unexpected it was. A spoiler is something that ruins, reveal, spoils an unexpected part of the film, especially twists and endings, therefore whether it bothered you personally or not, it IS a spoiler.

Hey WhatCulture, dunno if you've seen this one and it could be a long shot but.... ..in Texas Chainsaw (2013) when Jed saws his way into the carnival he meets a female(?) wearing a very 'distinctive' pig mask and cape. Could this be a link to the 'SAW' films? Again, could be a long shot but it looks almost EXACTLY like the disguise that Shawnee Smith wears in the later SAW films. There is a connection between Eddie Murphy's Trading Places and Coming to America. There is a scene in Coming to America where Eddie Murphy's character hands a bag of money to a homeless man. When the homeless man sees all the money in the bag, he yells out "Mortimer.. We're Back!!", to his also homeless friend. Those two guys were the guys from Trading Places that lost a bet, and also their entire fortune.

You missed a Blade Runner connection. The Kurt Russel film Soldier(1998) is set in the same universe as Blade Runner. There's an Easter egg in the movie when you see the tattoos that list the names of places Kurt Russel's character fought. One of them is Tannhouser Gate which is mentioned by Roy Batty at the end of Blade Runner. And the connection is confirmed in the DVD commentary by director Paul W. S. Anderson.

"Blade Runner" also ties into the movie "Soldier" with Kurt Russell.....Russell's character has his battles listed in the movie and one of the battles was Tanhauser Gates which everyone knows that is same place that Roy Batty from Blade Runner watched sea beams glitter in the dark...

Split actually kind of a sequel to Unbreakable especially when the main character in Split is actually the boy with the abusive mother in Unbreakable all grown up... remember he actually in a way helped Bruce Willis realize his powers in Unbreakable and also there will be a final sequel to both Unbreakable & Split in 2019 titled "Glass" so I cant wait.

blade runner and soldier, soldier is supposed to be a "sequel". At least what I read recently. That would mean that by your comparison that the movie soldier would also be set in the aliens universe. That's pretty cool how a lot of the tie in' s could be possible/plausible.

Ohh and you forgot that not only was Aliens and Blade Runner in the shared universe but Firefly is also. The most obvious showing is in the beginning of the pilot episode when Mal takes the heavy gun and shoots down the ship you can see on the clear shield that the weapon was made by Wayland.

You started well with the Necronomicon in Jason Goes To Hell, but you didn't push it far enough... Jason Voohrees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Leatherface all cameos in Bride of Chucky. All of them and more, like Candyman and PInnhead are mentioned to exist in the universe of Leslie Vernon in the movie "Behind the mask" and Leslie Vernon is mentioned in Hatchet 2. Which means that Freddy, Jason, Michael, Chucky, Candyman, Leatherface, Ash Williams, Pinhead, Victor Crowley (and probably others I forgot) all live in the same universe. How could you not mention that ?
