The MBT is not an upgrade for the leopard A2 it is the proposed upgrade for the British Challenger 2 with a 130mm main gun
@drunkendrew2174 жыл бұрын
they actually mixed up two challenger 2 designs, the first one was the Rheinmetall challenger 2 with a new 130mm smoothbore gun and turret. Whilst the second was the RBSL (Rheinmetall/BAE) upgrade proposal, I believe this has the 120mm smoothbore gun and changes to the optics (note the sight above the gun is no longer there). I think both these proposals have the same optics/sighting package in one in a new turret and one in the original modified one and of course the different guns.

Unlike this "MBT" he is talking about... if it even exist. Who would called such program "MBT"? Wow, Spotlight, you're late in the newest Military vehicles Lynx - Designed in 2015 (5 years ago) Boxer - in production since 2009 (11 Years ago) MBT Revolution - developed in 2010 ((10 years ago) Barys 8x8 (called ATOM) - Production since 2013 (7 Years ago) Skyranger - designed in 2017 (3 years ago) Marauder - Production since 2008 (12 Years Ago) Stryker - Production since 2002 (18 years ago) BVS 10 - Production since 2005 (15 Years ago) Corsac 8x8 - Developed in 2017 (3 Years ago) you could talk about the Armada (newer than 7 vehicles on your list), VT-4 (newer than everything on our list), Leclerc XLR (production started 2020), ...
@bobincognito62394 жыл бұрын
How can you say the Lynx, Skyranger and the corsac aren't new? You can't use production year for some vehicles and development year for others. The Armata is still under development so it would be nonsense to talk about it. The vt-4 is from 2017 the same as the Skyranger and corsac For the Leclerc, I don't think this video include upgrades. But yeah some of these vehicles like the Stryker and BVS-10 are 20yo, I don't understand why they are here.
@adamleddy98944 жыл бұрын
@@bobincognito6239 Patrick here just likes google and wikipedia... he could have spelt Armata correctly, but mind you the creator of this video didnt get the CR2 130mm so this is not an accurate video in anyway... considering he comments on RME optics... when it is obviously Thales sights... but any way... IF PATRICK was the expert he tries to be up top... he would have commented on the most obvious inaccuracy on this video.
@patrickmichaud71484 жыл бұрын
@@bobincognito6239 Go check @ 2:45 "An modular upgrade kit" So yes they include upgrade. The Corsac is an upgrade version of the Pandur II. The corsar prototype was proposed in 2016 and development finish in 2017 the slovak used it since 2017. The Lynx is not new, but you're right that never been in service. Not because no one have bought it that mean it new. Do you consider a 2015 Car never sold waiting in the dealership lot new? The Armata is in production and will deliver 100 units for 2021 according most of news. the prototype was in production in 2015 to 2017. the final version was (according news) done in 2019. Some don't have production year simply because no one want it yet (company don't built it if no one want it.) Rheinmetall built the Leopard 2A6. the one coming out of the factory line now, Do you consider it a 2020 tank or 2006 tank? PS the first 2A6 came out the factory in 2006.
@bobincognito62394 жыл бұрын
@@patrickmichaud7148 True for the upgrades. But you misunderstood, what i mean is that you can't use differents criteria (production year or development year). In January 2020 the T-14 still wasn't in production because of problems with engines and thermal-imaging equipment. But i just saw they begun production in august.

@@idiebeforeiquit @Michael Corleone dates I mentioned are the RELEASE dates. However long it takes to study and develop a vehicle, it cannot be given as "newest" when it came into market nearly 13 years before. A computer motherboard needs 2 to 3 years of work before it hits the shelves, a computer case can take up to 5 years between the study, the tooling and manufacturing before it is released in any case the date for it is the release date not the beginning of the study and design. The BVS was RELEASED in service over 13 years ago in 2005 while developed between 2001 and 2004.

Germany finances Russian weapon development, through the purchase of natural gas!
@mangalores-x_x4 жыл бұрын
so do the USA then... they actually import as much Russian gas and oil simply because it is cheap. This argument is so moronic it hurts, barring a complete shut down of trade between countries you will have an exchange of money and material between them. The Northstream pipeline is contentious because of transfer fees for Eastern Europe (making the gas more expensive for Germany aka Germany subsidizing them) and the US wanting to sell their own gas (which they cannot because theirs is more expensive and tanker transport adds additional costs). Nothing of that has anything to do with actual security policy.
