Over & Over I keep watching your videos since the PCT. No matter how many times , I always see something I missed. Watching the sides you se how crisp every pine needle is, the cracks in the rocks and the barks on trees to the leaves hidden behind another tree. Your Sonys did you a wonderful job..

Cornelius, Really enjoying the videos..tremendous work. Sorry we missed each other in Yosemite. I was NOBO on the JMT and got to Tuolumne on Sept 8th. Had a great trip, but not nearly as thorough as you on the videos. Thank you so much for these. Makes me want to get out there even in the middle of Winter!. Keep them coming ! Yep, i'm the old guy on the trail.. Jim (Blue Dog).

So far it looks like you had some good weather, aside from the heat. I never really considered doing the PCT sobo but now, maybe. By the way, we met in the backpackers campground a couple years ago before doing the JMT....can't wait to see your video of the Sierras on this trip. Also, you've given me some inspiration to try my hand at vlogging....I'm doing a hiking trip in Spain later this year....cheers!

What made you decide to go south bound? Everyday so far just seems so incredibly beautiful! Out of this world.

I decided to go SOBO because there are less people, I wanted the solitude of the trail and wanted to see Washington in its prime, the flowers alone is worth going South

HurlgoatHiker if I ever get the chance to hike the PCT you definitely are making me re think going SOBO instead of north bound. I am a photo guy ( I appreciate video as well ) and yes like you said hitting those states at that time of year is definitely worth doing that way. So amazing!

I’ve watched all of your hiking videos, awesome work! Can you share how your tent held up, I’m really close to pulling the trigger on buying a tent, your tent is one I’m looking at. I would appreciate your thoughts!

Congrats on the knee brace making the knee feel better. And it is good to see the stove with fuel canister back in operation. :-). So much easier and cleaner than a fire. Beautiful blue skies. Hard to comprehend the heat with such lush greenery around you. When it is that hot, and there is such abundant water, does anyone soak their hats or shirts to feel cooler? I'll do that with shirts and shorts and it is like instant air conditioning. Just wondering.... Thanks!

i do that.. and i carry a rag i can soak and wipe myself with to cool off as well.. especially in desert (but we have to carry that water obviously)

The lush green comes from the nine months of overcast skies, rain and snow pack. We only see the sun in July, Aug, and Sep.

i sorta know how that is minus the snow down here in the Bay

Goooood Morning :) Did you bring a sticky bun for later on down the trail? We're glad you got a knee brace and that it's helping! Hopefully you get a good night of sleep for your journey tomorrow, stay safe out there.

Did you get used to being outside all of the time, or did it feel like a relief to be inside of a building again? To me, inside of a building = comfortable temperature, quiet, safe from bears and bugs.

Love the scenery you capture on video. Your channel feels like a cross between a thru hiker vid and a meditation vid. Nice.

i'm just enjoying these so much. i know it takes so much time for you to edit and post. do you think you will do more than one/day? i don't think i can wait 6 months to see them all! lol i'm living vicariously thru your experience ;)
@HurlgoatHiker6 жыл бұрын
No I don't think I'll be doing more than a 1 a day. I'm working 55 hours a week and another 20-30 hours editing videos, can't do much more. Thanks for watching.

I’m kind of smiling at a number of comments in this series of videos of your trip because a number of people think you’re up there right now and sending these in real time. ;-)

Haha ya me too, I could never find the time to edit like this at the end of a long day hiking.

How long does the fuel canister last you? Also would you suggest a solar panel for the JMT?

I keep thinking you’re going to see a bear. Fingers crossed 🤞 you do, from a safe distance of course 😉
